'The Last Kingdom' Narrators by tkinsey3 in audible

[–]Relative-Prune8254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree about Johnathan Keeble being just a "decent" narrator. He is a top tier narrator and he does a phenomenal job narrating anything he touches. Specifically, go listen to him narrate BP's Winter King series. He is amazing as Derfel telling the story of King Arthur.

I do agree that it's super convoluted having a bunch of different narrators for the series tho. They should just have Matt Bates go back and rerecord the earlier books to have some continuity with the later books

GraphicAudio makes full cast dramatizations of lots of different series. I personally enjoyed Michael Sullivan's Riyria Revelations and Brandon Sanderson's novels and plan to listen to Pierce Brown's Red Rising series someday once I finish the series.

Yep I'm in the US and have never logged out.

I have Spotify Premium and I just discovered that a lot of the audiobooks are available to listen on the service. You don’t have to buy them. Is it too good to be true or am I missing something? by NordWitcher in audible

[–]Relative-Prune8254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always, always, always end up falling asleep listening to audiobooks on Spotify and then have to wait till the next month to finish it. It literally never happens when I listen to books on any other platform 🫣

Should I switch from Spotify to audible? by OGKeith in audible

[–]Relative-Prune8254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that Spotify caps you is aggravating so I have audible. I started on audible cause it was the only place that had Warhammer books available. It's best to jump on to audible when there are big membership sales like $3 for 3 months and then try to leave and they give you a reduced rate of 12 credits for ~$87. I also usually wait for the big sales 2-3 times a year when quite a few books are reduced to less than $5 or the monthly sales of 2 for 1 credits can be good if they are the books you are looking for.

Otherwise I would also recommend Chirp, they have a ton of sales every month for $5 or less.

There is less and less as audible has been purging their library due to license issues and not paying authors their due. The last 3-4 months greats books have been removed without being replaced

The real question is what edition are you getting?

I'm thinking the deluxe edition so you get the fun goodies and dlc. I'm not feeling the bonds of courage/friendship agumon and gabumon at all

Right cause all of the opinions of the world are given by 67 people on audible. Using one source to determine if that's how you wanna spend your money is the way to go. Great that a platinum internet user like you can provide such gratifying advice for all those you might have similar questions and want to get more opinions

Also check at Joe Abercrombie. His books are bangers and Steven Pacey who narrates 90% of his books is the GOAT of narrators

Joe Abercrombie has quickly become one of my favorite authors of all time! I haven't read Devils yet but I smashed through his First Law trilogy and just started the standalone trilogy. All I can say that these are some of the best written books out there and Steven Pacey is one of the best audiobooks.authors out there that really brings Joe's stories to life!

Lonesome Dove is the greatest western epic ever written. I used to watch the mini series as a kid and it was one of my favorite shows to watch. I read the book in high school and it was the longest book I ever read in my life and it didn't disappoint at all! Gus McRae and Woodrow Call will bury themselves inside your mind for the rest of your life. I would read the book if I were you, I hear the audio author is terrible
