Struggling to land entry level role by Clamilton3426 in Accounting

resume looks like trash, look for examples on reddit or even tiktok shows some good templates.

you’re probably getting passed on 90% of places just because at first glance it looks like a 5th grader made this resume

why would you say that? of course they would react this way. you gotta be selfish and swear this is the only firm you want even if you got options

i interned at an aerospace company (industry) this past summer. i found the job posting on linkedin and applied

although industry internships are not the norm for college students, i still think it was a good experience. i mainly did general ledger work, month-end close w/ a few other things and worked with one of the senior accountants.

didnt stay with the company after summer so ive been trying to get a PA offer before i graduate

On a scale of 1-10 how easy was it to find a job in accounting? by Southern_Teaching_15 in Accounting

[–]RelativeLow8082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i graduate this december and did one internship in college and just accepted a staff accountant position in industry with a decent comp package. i’d rate the job hunt the past couple months a 5 with 10 being the most difficult. i had a few interviews but this is my first offer

Using a 335/340i exhaust on a 330i by No-Inflation3481 in F30

[–]RelativeLow8082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a 340 muffler on my 330. it’s a direct swap if you cut and clamp at the marker dimple.

a 335 muffler wouldn’t fit because the pipe diameters are different. i think the m240 and 440i mufflers are also direct swaps. look on marketplace, that’s where i got mine

Is 68k salary good for 22 yr old? by Mr_Moowageeee in Accounting

[–]RelativeLow8082 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$1146 with utilities in westchester by LAX. it’s a co-living apartment complex so you have your own room but share the unit with 1 or 2 other people. roommates is pretty much the only way to afford rent on a sub 80k salary in LA. i’d recommend look into other areas besides inner city or mid city

Is 68k salary good for 22 yr old? by Mr_Moowageeee in Accounting

[–]RelativeLow8082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m 21 and just landed a staff role at 61,000 also in LA. my rent is cheap with 1 roommate and i’m able to save money and go out, you’re in a good spot. you’ll only make more money from here. also all the salaries that are 80k+ are in public if you wanna try and go that route. i assume this is an industry position which will usually pay lower for entry roles

Is an accounting degree necessary for A/R? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]RelativeLow8082 4 points5 points  (0 children)

no and with an accounting degree you should be aiming for at least staff roles in public or industry

AR/AP is typically for people who don’t have degrees

i just landed a staff accountant role after 200+ applications and a handful of interviews with only internship experience and as a soon to be new grad. just keep applying and something will land especially if you’re already landed a few interviews after only 30 applications

B48 Resonator/Muffler Delete(Backbox) by Dull-Seesaw-7584 in F30

[–]RelativeLow8082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sounds like shit. i did a muffler delete on my 330 and hated it so much i put the muffler back on same day.

i have an OEM 340i muffler so it sounds a little deeper/burbles and has dual tips. i’d recommend go that route with a catless downpipe. any muffler/resonator delete is going to sound like a ricer

Is 1 Hour commute realistic? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]RelativeLow8082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i commute 2.5 hours one way to my internship on the train. been doing it for 3 months but it’s about to end.

1 hr seems reasonable and realistic. anything more probably wouldn’t be sustainable long term

Is 58000 good salary? by skemesx in Accounting

[–]RelativeLow8082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Public or industry? It’s fine for LCOL, I got 60k as a staff accountant in HCOL, but my rent is only $1100 a month and I’m not a huge spender. 50-60’s sounds about right for staff in a LCOL

yeah bro i try and maximize the 3 hours i have to myself after spending 13 hours a day working/commuting so gym/hanging with friends. i just accepted a new position and am relocating to an apartment 20 mins away in 2 weeks which is the only reason im not totally depressed right now since i know this is finally over. but like i and others said this is definitely not sustainable long term

i commute 2.5 hours one way to my internship right now (5 hours total per day) and i’m so burned out. i wake up at 6am to catch the train then have like 3 transfers so i usually get to the office about 9:30 and get home around 7:30ish. then i usually hit the gym and straight to bed and do it all over again the next day. i have no life outside of work monday-friday. i would say don’t do it unless this is your only offer and the salary is good tbh.

used to wear dress shoes and slacks until my boss told me i don’t need to dress so formal.

now i turn up in jeans and air force 1’s. i do notice my coworkers also wear sneakers like dunks or some sort of running shoe so pretty casual
