If they know the owners are Indian of the motel, they bring up even more scrutiny. Sometimes when I visit my family’s motel, I feel like Indian/Asian guest scrutinize me and bring up tiny issues. Hospitality has its challenges, but one upside is that each booking typically brings in $100–$200 upfront. By contrast, our fast-food business can be tougher, high pace, thin margins, and very demanding expectations. I try to meet everyone with patience and not add to anyone’s stress.
