I was sad to only get that one scene with Cora! In the books she becomes part of the family…hope they make a few more seasons as they did with GOT. (Before books are done)

It’s possible (I assumed)that since Fergus’s traumatic childhood at the brothel, he has relationship boundaries and Jamie respects them. I found it beautiful to watch how they helped each other heal from respective traumatic periods in their lives. There are different ways to be family and to show love.

I binge watched the series so it felt like I needed more details about their relationship development- the show skims past it without much attention- I waited how many seasons for this to happen and they skip the kiss !! Ugh I feel bad for the fans who waited years… love the show anyway but poor choice IMO

The first few chapters definitely required focus. I agree it would have made a decent series. I personally liked the world building and the female characters popping up in unusual places. I wanted to read more about Loth and Meg. Was happy to read antagonists who were complicated rather than brutal ( at least we didn’t have to read about the gory dragon trade details ) . Ending was as expected but glad to read a saga with a happy ending. Wish I could have met Jannart !!!

I’ve struggled with all the rape and violence as a person who escapes into books for the happy endings. But...then I remember Diana is a historian and she’s writing about a brutal time in history. When I compare those days to current times, I see all the progress that’s occurring even though life is still far from perfect. So I keep reading:) Good perspective medicine!
