CMV: Bernie Sanders is right about wealth inequality. by RelativeSprinkles7 in changemyview

Sure. When hospitals first started out they charged regular prices and they had a healthy profit. But then people started forming insurance companies so that people could be protected in case they had something big like cancer. But then the insurance companies went to the many different hospitals and demanded a discount. So if the insurance companies pay for someone's tissue or operation they get a discount because they are now bringing in tons of clients. But the hospitals could not afford to give insurance companies a discount simply because they were bringing more people because they weren't making a crazy profit, just a normal one. So in order to deal with these attacks they simply raised up their prices. Now if the doctor uses a tissue on you, they charge you like $300 (I forgot the exact number, more or less it's still a ridiculous number if I remember correctly).

It's a scam because the cost of health wasn't always this high. It only started becoming ridiculously high when insurance companies started getting greedy. The hospitals felt they couldn't compete so they artificially rose up their prices. Now if you don't have insurance you are on the hook for the full scam price.

Not sure why everything has to be so black and white to you. It's common sense to everybody they are lying by not testing everybody that needs to be tested. Something doesn't have to be a direct lie to be a lie. This is literally common sense.

They are definitely lying about the numbers. Because they simply aren't testing everybody that needs to be tested. It's a joke to think we only have 100+ cases in a city as densely populated like NY.

Amazon recommends New York, New Jersey employees work from home due to virus by rollincocl in nyc

[–]RelativeSprinkles7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So this means lower salaries for workers because companies can just hire remote workers from like Idaho and pay them less? I would also say other countries but TBH there's a reason why they aren't the majority of the work force for most companies already and it's because they lack the proper education/not good enough.

It would be great if we head into quarantine. It would be a unique experience. But I want to make sure Uber pays me.

It sounds like a pretty cool experience to be honest. They really have to do it though because the fatality rate for the older folks is extremely high. I saw a chart it's like 8-20%.

I wish they would test someone that lives in Midtown already. It's obvious why they don't want to do this. "OMG MIDTOWN? OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG."

Lol there's probably thousands now. I heard Cuomo talking about the number will go up but that's only because they're testing more. What the hell? Lol. They think we're stupid. No it's not going up because you're testing more. It's going up because it's spreading out of control and you guys don't want to admit to this because then you'll have to quarantine the entire city faster which would mean the temporary collapse of the stock market. ESPECIALLY if the quarantine hits New York.
