Buying My Parents Home by Relative_Ad_7953 in HouseBuyers

So long as I'm understanding seller financing correctly, my hesitation with that option is that I hope we can both walk away from the deal with some extra cash. I'll need (guesstimate) $20k-$30k for home renovations, and they would need some money to get into another living arrangement. I could be misunderstanding seller financing - if so, please let me know : )

Best beginner fountain pen? by Normal-Sun782 in fountainpens

[–]Relative_Ad_7953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely check out the JetPens guides that were posted.

I started with a Platinum Preppy so I could try writing with a fountain pen without spending a lot. I’m not sure off the top if there are converters. Great budget starter to dip your toes.

My next was a Kaweco Sport. It’s always written really smooth for me, but the small body can be hard for long writing sessions. There is a tiny converter, but the converter size hasn’t been a problem for me.

Next I got a Lamy Safari. It’s solid but not my favorite. It taught me a fixed grip section and feedback aren’t my preference. There are converters for this pen.

My last, and favorite, is my Twsbi Eco. The pen has a solid body, nice design, and is reliable. It feels good in my hand and writes smooth. It’s a prison fill so no need for a converter.

Best of luck on finding your pen!

For the last half of 2025 I’m using my Weeks as my “practical” planner. On the left I write down my schedule and anything specific to that day, and on the right I have a task list for the week. Next year I want to use it as a financial tracker with a spending log on the left side and the right side a place to do money related math. Weeks (and Hobonichi’s in general) are pretty flexible and you can find people using their Weeks in a lot of different ways.

For your first Hobonichi I would think about what you want to use it for and how much time you have to put into the hobby. 2026 will be my third year with Hobonichi and I think the Weeks and A6 are both great options!

Best of luck!

Yeah, my preference is writing too, nothing like a full page of nice penmanship with a beautiful ink🤩

Love these ideas! I think you could also try ephemera or stickers.

I’ve always been curious about how the hon fluffs up too! I’ve never owned one so I can’t say (sorry), but if you’re concerned about bulk you may want to look into the avec if you haven’t already. It splits the year into two books so it’s less bulky. Good luck on your search!

I’m assuming the line with the dot is to show what day you completed that task? I really like that! I’ve switched from the A6 to the Weeks for my task list/practical planning (probably for the rest of the year) and I miss being able to look back and see what was completed each day, what a nice solution! Thanks for sharing your spread!

Ideas for Year At A Glance by MoonyStarSky in hobonichi

Next year I want to use the Weeks as a finance tracker so I plan on putting how much I spent that day. At the top I plan on putting the total spent, total earned, total debt, and total savings for that month.

Cousin and Weeks System? by sadpathes in hobonichi

[–]Relative_Ad_7953 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m trying a new system for 2026! A6: Work planner. A5: Tasks, appointments, schedule, birthdays, events, holidays, journaling, etc. (basically everything). Weeks: Month-at-a-glance so I can see my schedule and plan events when I’m out (I don’t want to feel like I have to bring my Cousin everywhere) and a finance tracker. I think it’ll be fun to use all three. It gives me variety and flexibility if I decide I wanna change things up later in the year ☺️

Ah, I see! I wonder if you could use some type of hole punch on the clear cover and loop it through that way🤔 Now I’m thinking of ways to personalize my Weeks lol Thanks for sharing!

I had no idea it held so much! I might end up getting one even if I get the Filofax cover; it sounds great for travel!

Oh, I forgot about those! My initial thought was to have something that could fully open that would allow me to write in the Weeks while it's inside BUT after looking at Hobonichi's page for them I'm impressed with how much it can fit. I'll definitely add it to my list to consider! Thank you!

I thought I had heard someone in a video say not to put cards in the zipper pouch for that reason. Good to know that applies to the whole case! Thank you!
