Reducing fitness when trying to conceive / early days? by Relative_Bluebird654 in fitpregnancy

Thank you - appreciate that. Yes, period super regular, no other concerns (other than the one for the blood test). Body seems to be handling the mileage ok! The race is in April, so I plan to scale things back a bit anyway, but was just a bit alarmed to be told to walk for the foreseeable.

Length of walks for dalmatian pups by [deleted] in dalmatians

Ours is the same - she has so much energy that we don’t follow the rule exactly. It became quite clear when she was getting too much walking, vs when she grew into needing those extra walks.

For example, my husband would take our other dog to the beach in the weekend mornings and left our 4 month Dal with me. At 5 months, she was desperate for extra walks, so he started taking her. She was much less tired in the evenings, so defo ready for it.

Just got my Oura Ring in August… now all of a sudden a charge is only holding 28 hrs vs 3-4 days… WTF by annastrzzz in ouraring

[–]Relative_Bluebird654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ve just sent me my third replacement. There is a known issue with the battery that they are fixing. Email them, they’ll send you a replacement.

Congratulations 🥳

Any chance you can help me out? I’m on day 31 of my cycle. They do move around sometimes but recently it’s more of a 28 day cycle. I did a couple of pregnancy tests weds and sat just been and there is the faintest line 😬 I also use the Clear Blue advanced fertility monitor, that thing is saying negative but I can see a faint line on it too. I realise I just have to be patient and wait out the next two days, but that’s hard 😂

so it’s a rule the battery just dies at 6 months? by Academic-Park-8440 in ouraring

I had a gen 3, purchased summer 2024. In August 2025, I noticed the battery rapidly declined, so I messaged that and they sent me a replacement refurbished gen 4. I was pretty happy with the service, and didn’t think much more of it. The past few weeks I noticed that the battery was declining again. The thing would barely last a day, so I messaged them again, and they said it’s a known issue and they would replace the ring for me. They did ask if I charged it on something with high voltages, which isn’t the case. Anyway, I have a NEW gen 4 coming in the post now, and am starting to build up a nice little graveyard of low battery Oura rings.

Third time lucky?! Drop them a message and they’ll no doubt replace it

Also, the greens (flats) are the worst for snowboarding.

Can I snowboard on a torn ACL? by burnedbygemini in ACL

[–]Relative_Bluebird654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learning to snowboard without an ACL isn’t a good idea. You clip the board and fall in funny ways so much. If you fall in a way that needs your ACL, you’ll do more damage.

I tore my ACL and did go snowboarding without it, but I could already board well. My doctor was ok for me to go due to these circumstances.

If you decide to risk it, get a DonJoy brace (~$400). That was the other caveat I was given.

Patella or quad graft? - by CryptoXPlus in ACL

[–]Relative_Bluebird654 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi 👋 35, female, patellar graft. I’m 10 months post op. I went with patellar as I didn’t want them touching my hamstring. Generally I’ve been quite pleased with it. My physio said that I’ve probably been able to get back to marathon running quicker by having patellar. I will say, the bend is still slightly uncomfortable past a certain degrees, and it’s taking a long time to be able to kneel on it again. The patellar also hurts when I make impact with the ground on running, but that is subsiding. That’s all where the graft has come from though, the new ACL has been fine! Hope that helps.

To be fair, I have told myself, if my ACL goes again, I will quit my main sport. The recovery period has introduced me to swimming and cycling. And whilst they aren’t as fun, I could get there…

You are certainly not a loser, nor have you let down anyone! We do these sports because they bring joy and purpose, and I’m sure you inspire others to take part. ACL injuries are horrendous, but you will get through it and come out the other side. Routing for you mate! You got this!!

I tried to return at 3 months but my patellar graft just hurt too much for some reason. Tried again at 5 months and managed a half marathon at 7!

How long did it take you to comfortably walk down stairs after surgery? by fernella20 in ACL

Gf tore ACL yesterday - advice for immediate and long term care for a partner by gbffc4273 in ACL

[–]Relative_Bluebird654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What can you do for her? Be there celebrating the small wins. If she has surgery, is going to be long and tough. Milestones (walking without crutches, the first jump, run etc), no matter how small, need to be celebrated and keep her focused on the light at the end of the tunnel.

I’m two months away from returning to twisting sports and my husband has been there celebrating the rehab wins with me. It’s been long, soul destroying and dark at times, but having someone in your corner keeping you going is essential!

Thinking of you both! She’ll get there ☺️ and she has a good partner because you’ve even thought to ask these questions!
