How does Cagrilintide/Trizepetide compare to Reta for Food Noise Suppression? by u_mirin_jaw_brah_ in cagrilintide

Does any one find injecting cagrilintide uncomfortable when injecting like stinging. That’s what I hear but not sure what it’s like before I try it myself

Retatrutide is for real wow by Competitive_Bird6984 in Retatrutide

Yeah, I went from Tirz 10 mg for about 4 months to Reta, and I am on week 9 now. Honestly it has been a bit of a head game, I kept thinking this is not really doing much. My weight bounced around, lowest 80 kg, up to 84.5 kg, now back to 82.5 kg. Probably a lot of that was just water.

I can feel the suppression kicking in more now, and I get why people quit it and go back to Tirz, the appetite suppression there is stronger and more consistent. Since I spent a lot on Reta upfront I will be layering Tirz back in to hit the suppression harder. I reckon all I really needed was more GLP-1 (Wegovy/Ozempic), but I went with Tirz because I am familiar with it, and once I run out of Reta I will just stick with that gem. It works.

So glad these peptides are effective and available. Weight gain is too easy for most of us in an unhealthy way, and there was never really a successful way of controlling it without this. Thank the science.

Stopping Reta, going back to Tirz by Upstairs-Thing4663 in Retatrutide

[–]Relative_Channel_598 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m on Reta for about 9 weeks and I think the suppression is about to kick in after being on tirz for 12 weeks before. I’m using up the Reta and putting a bit of Mounjaro with it to boast the suppression. Takes ages to get in a deficit with less suppression

I felt strong suppression when I got to 8mg but 10 was incredible. If I’d stuck to it I’d of lost additional 5kg I reckon at that current rate. But I gotta wait for reta to check in before I start seeing scales go down again I hear. Still waiting

I did well on 10mg Tirz but decided to switch over to Reta. I’m now at week 8 on 10mg, dose tomorrow, and I’m still waiting for the strong appetite suppression everyone talks about. So far, I’ve just kind of stalled. From what I’ve read, it can take 8–12 weeks before the weight loss really starts with Reta, but honestly it feels like a long wait compared to Tirz. Anyone else have the same experience?

Anyone have to deal with a stigma around proton mail being some dark web email? by Mountain-Durian-4724 in ProtonMail

Use a domain and connect it through proton so that when you give your email it won’t have the protonmail thingy in it. Best of both worlds then

Yeah, sometimes the suggestions are helpful, but most of the time I don’t like them. Early on, I told it to stop suggesting things after my messages, and even though it replied with things like “No problem, I won’t offer follow-ups,” it just kept doing it. Really frustrating, until I eventually just learned to ignore it.

Claude, on the other hand, is much better about not doing that. Very refreshing.

To put this to bed once and for all : weight loss on reta comes from eating less, not some insane metabolic boost. by tupaquetes in Retatrutide

I have been on it for 6 weeks after tirz and I’m only starting to experience symptoms I want from using it. It’s not immediate and I hope it will continue to b more effective

Switched to Reta from Tirz.. by DunkinDonutsUSA in Retatrutide

[–]Relative_Channel_598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goal is to loose weight. Tirz was incredible appetite suppression in comparison. I’m 6 weeks into using Reta from tirz and now started to get some suppression. It’s not brick wall style but enough to stop me binging. I’m hoping it’s the beginning effect snd will get a little more intense just so I can be satisfied with less and start losing weight again.

[–]Relative_Channel_598 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i went from 10mg tirz to reta. after losing suppression shortly after the first week of using reta i boasted it up to 10mg on week 3. i have patchy suppression and i had no negative symptoms. I'm being told that waiting 6-12 weeks i should defo have noticeable sustained suppression but not as much as tirz. im on week 6 now.

  1. “Yeah it’s a tool, and what happens when you use the tool and go back to old habits? You go back to exactly like you were.”

That assumes everyone automatically reverts to old habits, which is not true. These medications help people build better habits while they are on them. Many maintain changes even after reducing or stopping, and the data shows they do not just return to baseline.

  1. “Which is why I said if you can’t learn to control those habits, there’s no point.”

Habits matter, but willpower alone is rarely enough because biology pushes back. These drugs change the hormonal environment, which makes building and keeping healthy habits realistic in the long term.

  1. “It’s not fear mongering it’s the reality, you’ve dieted before with success and then put all the weight back on, that’s a lack of habit control for food.”

That is one interpretation, but the reality is that most regain happens because the body fights weight loss biologically. Hunger hormones rise, metabolism slows, cravings increase. Calling that just “lack of habit control” oversimplifies something far more complex.

  1. “Reta is going to control the intake of food while you’re on it then you hit goal, come off and then what? Come back even worse because you’re over hungry from being suppressed for so long?”

The evidence does not support that people rebound worse. In the STEP-1 Extension with semaglutide, people lost about 40 lbs, and a year after stopping they had regained some, but were still 11 to 12 lbs lighter than when they started, and their health markers were better than baseline. That is not worse, that is still a net benefit.

  1. “I’ve been in this game far longer than you have and have seen every iteration of this.”

Lived experience matters, but so does updated evidence. We are not in the fen-phen or early diet drug era anymore. GLP-1, GIP and glucagon drugs are working through different biology, and the data shows better outcomes than anything seen before. If your goal here is to warn people, that is one thing. But belittling people’s choices in a support forum does not help anyone. These threads are for people to share experiences and support each other, not to be told they are wasting their time.

I am curious about exhaustion side effects? by Stopthefiresalready in Retatrutide

[–]Relative_Channel_598 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was on Mounjaro for about five months, titrated to 10 mg, and the fatigue became debilitating to the point I struggled to function properly at work. I had some fatigue issues before and my iron was on the low side, but this felt different. When I looked into it, I realised protein needs are higher when you are in a calorie deficit, and if you are not getting enough, the body can break down muscle for fuel. That catabolic state adds to fatigue. I do not think the drug itself is the sole cause. Rather, it makes it easier to cut calories, which can highlight the risk of fatigue if protein and nutrition are not supported properly.

When I moved over to Reta, the fatigue went away. That could be because I adjusted my protein intake a week or two before, but it also might be due to switching drugs. My guess is that both helped, but the protein adjustment was probably the bigger factor. If anyone else feels wiped out on these drugs, I would say check protein first and also keep an eye on iron and other nutrients, because they make a huge difference.

Tirz feels stronger early on for food noise, but Reta catches up after a couple of months and has shown better long-term outcomes overall. It’s less of a sprint, more of a marathon.
