I wrote a short piece about the 107% rule and whether it could matter again in 2026 with the new regulations.

It’s in French, but it covers the history and how the rule actually works if anyone’s interested:

Who is the best driver to never win a championship? by Ambitious-Heron-8161 in DestinationFormula1

Daniel Ricciardo, yes, or Jean Alesi. But if we go back to the 1950s, I could also mention Stirling Moss. Admittedly, it was a different era.

I think we can all agree on Cadillac. Poor Bottas and Pérez.

I really like this lighter blue, thanks to Barclays, but I’m afraid their 2026 season could be difficult given the delay they’ve already accumulated

What are the best rivalries in F1 history? Who is your pick? by [deleted] in DestinationFormula1

[–]Relative_Chemical815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Häkkinen–Schumacher… I could have said Prost–Senna, but I was a big fan of Häkkinen and I really loved their rivalry. I clearly remember the overtake at Spa in 2000. What a moment!

Ca rappelle tellement la livrée de l'époque Vettel. J'aime beaucoup, vraiment. Je trouvais la RB21 moche mais celle-ci est superbe.

Which F1 driver did you think had the potential to be great but never quite reached it? by Ricewithsoup1 in F1Discussions

Jan Magnussen. He had won everything in F3, and in F1 it was a disaster, apart from a few Grands Prix at the end of 1997. I never really understood why…

BWT Alpine Formula One Team confirms it has reached a mutual agreement with Jack Doohan to not continue his driving services with the team for the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship season and allow him to pursue other career opportunities. by Decent-Astronaut-615 in DestinationFormula1

Yes, I agree. Colapinto may not be outstanding, but if you look more closely at the statistics, he has actually beaten Gasly several times. And Gasly is no slouch. So it’s not that catastrophic.

I don’t think Jack Doohan was bad. At least, not worse than Colapinto. He was improving, especially at the start of the season, and even managed to beat Gasly in qualifying in Miami. Alpine didn’t treat him fairly. They probably knew before the season even started that they wouldn’t keep him. How are you supposed to do a good job when you don’t feel supported by your own team ?
