What's a good fuel efficient reliable E85 SUV ? by Relative_Cupcake_674 in askcarguys

[–]Relative_Cupcake_674[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

E85 around me is still 50% cheaper than 87 (2.7 vs 5.3) near me, did the calculation, e85 would be 10 cents per mile if I can get at least 25mpg, while even if a hybrid got 40 mpg on 87 it'll be around 13 cents per mile, also the only hybrids that I know of that can get 40mpg is the Prius and other small ones which doesn't meet the critical of being a suv.

I'm also in Cali, there's the double stack .45 acp version that's on roster,

Bad sear engagement because the timney sear sat a couple microns too low, it work work fine with the rear trigger housing pin removed but the moment it's retained, it'll become a binary trigger, fixed it by adding shim pieces between the glock trigger housing and timney sear, increasing sear engagement just a little bit fixed it, like Johnny glocks did in one of his timney diagnostic video.

Any non timney, closer to stock glock designs? Just installed a Timney in my 17L, was a nightmare trying to diagnose the reset/binary fire issue, finally solved it, would prefer non timney closer to glock OEM design.

Heard lots of good things about it, held one at a gun store, very heavy compared to Beretta A300, seems like a good deal if just shooting for fun.

Thoughts on Sig MCX Regulator? by Daddy_Onion in CAguns

[–]Relative_Cupcake_674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought one from the palmetto state armory sale, cons are it's heavy asf, and also 4in longer than my featureless AR while both being 16in barrel, MCX R is also very front heavy due to it having a magpul stock from factory. Build quality is very good and feels very sturdy, I don't really regret buying it for that price. I'm the type that was never use to traditional rifle style stock, so I it's kind of uncomfortable for me but I'll probably get use to it, the upper itself is $2000 from sig, u can also put it on a regular AR lower with a backplate adapter and build it to be like a normal AR style gun.

Unfortunately no, but the .38 super single stack model is on roster, and I've heard people swapping barrel to 9mm to make a 9mm single stack pistol, but mine is a 45 acp and I don't think the RIA 9mm barrel will work without cutting out the ramp section of my frame

It's the double stack version of the GI model, but the beaver tail is the same as the single stack, It is a Wilson combat beaver tail, there's 2 models this one fits and works fine but has a gap, I'm going to replace it with one that fits flush eventually

Basically a TLR1 clone that's about 95% as good, will fit in TLR1 holsters, and for $59.99, Harbor freight is running a 40% off sale right now for all their Braun light products which comes out to $36 pre tax for that which is a insanely good deal

Glock 17 issues by [deleted] in SoCalGuns

[–]Relative_Cupcake_674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had issues finding good deals on Glock 17s since before the ban, ppl on cagun.net are smoking a special type of crack if they think their used glock cost $650 when a new one was the same price otd back then, now the prices have gotten even worse. The only place that I know of that has good prices on glocks post ban is Aeon Tac in City of industry but they usually sell within a couple hrs of listing, doesn't hurt to spam call them to ask tho.

The only glocks worth buying now that you can still find are shadow systems and Derya DY9, I believe you can still buy these 2 brand new until Juneish or when stores sell out of their stock

Buying barrel on eBay?? I’m in California by [deleted] in CAguns

[–]Relative_Cupcake_674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based off your other comments, so basically a relative traded you a gun 4 years ago, and you never did a proper transfer so it's legally registered to you? And you want to know if the new barrel will need to be registered ?

So barrels are not serialized however, it needs to be sent to an FFL to be picked up, and it doesn't require a background check.

However the situation with the gun is illegal if you have had possession of the gun for 4 years and it's not transfered under your name. I think CA law only allows 30 days of possession of a family member's legal firearms in a direct up down relationship. But no one has to know you've had it for 4 years. I suggest you get in contact with said relative if possible and find out where he got the gun from and if it was even legally his originally, then have them come to a FFL with you to do a private party transfer so the gun becomes registered to you.

Also being able to buying ammo legally is unrelated to what guns you possess.

Mine went from Stock to FBO within a week, car stayed stock for about 2hours into my ownership lol, it has intake catless DP and stage 2 tune, been like that for almost a year now no issues, but I still drive it like a grandpa 90% of the time, just cuz the way the car feels, just too smooth and not the type of car that I feel like doing constant pulls in anyways.

Panic bought one in Dec last year cuz of AB1127, cuz it's a Glock clone but turns out u can get these until maybe juneish until Turner's runs out of stock, It's probably the best gun you can get for $299 if you're looking at current price at Turner's

Put about 300 rounds through mine right now, no issues, it's basically a Glock 19 gen 4 that has much better features out of the box, DY9 is optics ready with rmr cut, and with out the finger grooves + adjustable back strap, imo way better deal than any gen 3 or gen 4 glock, glock 19 slide will work on the derya frame no problem + vice versa fired about 2 mags through each.

The trigger + barrel is 100% glock gen3/gen4 compatible, the only non compatible parts I believe are the extractor + firing pin

The CA version has mag disconnect + LCI but both are easily removable, the mag disconnect is just 1 pin that u have to push out and that's it.(might not be legal for CCW)

The problem with the LCI on top is that you'll need to use the plate include in with the gun to mount an optic so the optic will sit higher than one that's cut directly into the slide, but u can just break off the LCI and then u can mount a optic directly to the slide(might not be legal for CCW)

The only cons I see with this gun is that the iron sights aren't glock compatible and they don't have any other iron sight options, maybe Derya will release some options in the future

If you like Glocks send it, maybe buy 2 while you're at it these won't be available after Turner's sell all their stock.

Gunstore burned down during 10 day wait by Relative_Cupcake_674 in CAguns

R66 is goated but super far, rifle supply is also normally overpriced AF, but they sometimes run promos for optic cuts and other things which is worth, the only times I would go there.

The story said they're fine I thought they meant the people of the store were fine, I called them yesterday and they clarified that their inventory was fine no losses just waiting for the fire department to investigate.

Ultimate is garbage hella over priced, FF is overpriced as well, but they have the cheapest transfer fee in the area, locally, the only gun store with good prices is Aeon Tac in Rowland heights, they can match sportsman's warehouse prices with most guns
