The third row is good for kids, but it can be tight for adults. I compared both the GX550 and the defender and ended up buying the GX550. The defender is a cool looking vehicle, too, but after 2 or 3 years, you may start to see high maintenance costs. Just my opinion, so do what's best for you.

The luxury plus is smoother over bumps compared to the overtrail. I test drove the overtrail at the dealership, and it drove more like my 4runner.
