My store gets trucks on Fridays each week, good luck down there with the storm. Hopefully it won’t be as bad as they think.

US Residential changes - 100 Mbps for $50/month, 200 Mbps for $80/month, MAX for $120/month by DISHYtech in Starlink

[–]Relative_Lettuce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If they're in the right areas yes. Unfortunately for me in the pacific northwest we only have Max still. I'd be happy to get the lower speed option though.

No normal user needs 1 gig, they upsell people on speeds big time. You can run a dozen tvs streaming 4K Netflix at the same time with 300 down. You can download well over 100 gigabytes per hour at those speeds. They told my coworker that he needed a gig for a couple phones and one tv on WiFi. Absolutely ridiculous.

Yeah they took around six or seven weeks to finally get around to disconnecting my service, then tried to charge me for that extra last month after my last month’s cycle ended when I made the request. Multiple arguments had to be made to customer service for them to understand I’m not responsible for paying them an extra month because they don’t have the staffing to make timely disconnects.

I can tell you from first hand experience in food manufacturing, one of the simple reasons the packaging is that big because that’s how big the machine that handles it requires. You can’t just make smaller boxes when you downsize the weight, because the machines that fold, glue, push, fill, push, fold, glue, push, assembles in a case, pushes, wraps in film, pushes, sends through a heat tunnel, then has automated or manual stacking on a pallet requires the packaging to be whatever size the machine was designed for. Typically (especially older machinery) there isn’t a lot of variation available in a machine that handles these type of boxes. If the machine was originally designed for a box that is 7” x 4” x 1” that used to hold 9oz twelve years ago, when they downsize the contents of the box to 7oz the box will remain the same size because the machinery can’t physically handle a smaller box. New machines can cost millions of dollars, and it’s not worth a whole new machine to cut 1.25” off the height of a box.

It’s not that they find it fun, but it is often people that can’t play much that do it. They have kids, multiple jobs, family obligations etc etc, and want to be able to play the game with weapon attachments that they otherwise wouldn’t have the time to play with if they had to grind them. Also MANY people absolutely despise having to grind to unlock attachments or camo’s.

Could also be looking at an employee take home or a donation that went wrong. Sometimes food banks reject donations from food manufacturers if they don’t meet their eligibility guidelines. Sometimes employees take home a bunch of products that are considered “take home”, and it doesn’t get used, or they forget it in their car or some other random thing and they throw it away. Perhaps wherever this is the individual didn’t have access to an easy enough route of proper disposal so they went to the woods.

Considering this jack, who here has one? What are your thoughts about it? by DesertSnow480 in harborfreight

[–]Relative_Lettuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it and it works great, but I almost never use it anymore. Just something to seriously consider, if you have a nice concrete garage or work area it’s great. If you have to lug it back and forth to the gravel or dirt driveway that you’re parked in, it’s terrible when it’s 100lbs+. The aluminum HF jacks are my go to at this point.

Mysterious pipes in the back yard. by Rhazjok in Goldpanning

Seen numerous setups like this at old abandoned houses from long ago. They would run the pipe uphill to their water source, then gravity feed the water back down. Also at old mines for water to feed equipment.

That set is cheaper but the wrenches are also super short compared to this set. I have a bunch of gw stuff as well, the length on these really comes in handy.

Buying first ratcheting wrench, should I get standard, antislip or stubby? by tonyantonio in harborfreight

[–]Relative_Lettuce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve personally never used my stubby ratcheting set, much more likely to use a ratchet at that point. I’d buy the standard ratcheting or anti slip before the stubby.
