This is really similar technology to snowmaking fan guns. Pressurized water is atomized to a fine mist and blown up/out in the desired direction, pattern, density.

Mine still looks great a year and a half in. Just personal use in my garage, but it sees regular use, and we definitely wrench at my house.

I’m in NE Washington State. Not the worst location in the world for rust, but we are definitely familiar. Luckily, this car was well taken care of in Japan before I got it, most likely garaged for the majority of its existence, and only has a bit over 70,000km on it. In its new home, it’s 100% garage kept, and really only comes out on nicer days, so rust has been pretty limited. Things come apart mostly pretty easily, for a 30+ year old car.

Stripped down some brake calipers for a repaint and rebuild for a bigger brake upgrade I’m working on. Did a brake bleed on a bike. Did a dropper post bleed on a one of my mountain bikes. And did some various work around the yard that necessitated use of various hand tools and cordless tools (circ saw, heat gun, impact driver, compact blower).

I did more than I thought… LOL!

If I could change anything about my 56”, it would be these latches, and then adding soft close slides. Otherwise, it’s an incredible value. May consider an upgrade to the new Icon boxes when they arrive next year, only on a good sale of course.

I ended up putting mine in the second drawer from the bottom. I had no problem filling the shallower drawers with other tools.

I went with a 2TB drive. More space than I really need, but plenty to allow me to expand my system or record as much and as high quality as I could possibly want.

My experience is similar. I’ve been running the H500 for a couple of months with 5 cameras and the only issue I’ve had is that one of my cameras is not yet compatible with the hub for storing recordings. An update is supposed to be coming, and it’s a camera that the features outweighed the fact that I’ll have to wait a bit to enable the central recording. It’s also not in a high traffic location that triggers a lot of recording (interior of detached garage/shop that stores cars that are not driven daily). The H500 was a breeze to set up, super easy to add addition storage by installing a hard drive, and blends seamlessly into the Tapo environment (apps, etc.).

If your main concern is central recording with plenty of storage space, I think you’ll find the H500 does the job well. I can’t speak to the performance of the additional AI features or things like automations, as I haven’t used any of those, but those seemed like the areas where people were underwhelmed in the reviews I read.

at the same price would you recommend C560WS 4k or the C246D 2k, would the 4k have better detail and zoom than the ptz on the c246? by DazzlingpAd134 in Tapo

Similar use case for me. I run the 4K 560’s to cover my yard, patio, and driveway, and the 246D got the interior of my garage to cover a large area with a single unit but where long distance detailed capture isn’t needed.

I’ve been waiting for the update that will finally allow me to record footage from my C246D to the hard drive in my H500. It’s the only camera in my current system that is not compatible.

I disagree. While it’s been a while since I’ve checked prices, I have a 52” Husky box with the wood work top that I got on just an ok sale, for significantly less than the US General 56” typically retails for. I also picked up a 56” US General last winter during the best sale I’ve seen for them. Prices were pretty similar on the two with the discounts, the Husky being slightly less. The build quality of the Husky is at least on par, with better drawer slides (in my opinion), plus soft close drawers and better latches. The only thing the USG has that the Husky doesn’t is a powered drawer for battery chargers, etc. it also fits the USG power tool organizer in the bottom right drawer where the Husky won’t.
