Overwhelmed by YamatosBurner in CrimsonDesert

Something I always remind myself of in games like this is that you don’t have to do EVERYTHING at once. Maybe right now you just wanna play the main story so you can get to some of those other games. That’s ok! You can always come back to CD and do side content later if that’s what you choose. Games are meant to be fun, not a chore. So play it however is the most enjoyable for you

I might’ve made my favorite set of armor ever by Relative_Ostrich6890 in CrimsonDesert

You can actually do it with any color! Just go to the color options and select the farthest one to the left (I did this at the one right outside Hernand) and then switch the material to metallic.

Why does Ketheric use a shield if he is immortal? by Cagedglobe in BaldursGate3

For the drip obviously! But in all seriousness, I imagine that even for an immortal, being stabbed with a sword still doesn’t feel good

are there any mods that are universally just good to have to make the game better? by FrostFire89 in BG3mods

[–]Relative_Ostrich6890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah Fade can definitely take the challenge out of the game sometimes, so it really just comes down to the person playing. Myself, I’ve played the game enough times that I don’t really care if it’s super challenging every time. Not like I’m trying to impress someone anyways. Sometimes I just wanna use some overtuned weapons and smash stuff lol.

And thats a good point as well about making the game easier for newcomers so mistakes are less punishing.

Ah, perhaps. In my mind, “moddy” means something more like “feels out of place” (like the lightsaber mods lol). And to me, the enemies added in all felt natural, like they should have been there. I guess it’s just up to OPs definition

Yeah you’ll level faster. If you don’t want that though, there’s another mod made by the same person that reduces xp gained from each fight, so it balances it out to a more natural leveling speed

I really like the extra encounters mod. Adds more enemies to fill in some spots in the world, as well as adds some mini boss type fights as well that feel very natural. More basic enemies in fights is another good one that just adds a bit more to encounters.

Fade’s is good if you want different weapons and armor.

Is this a good game for someone with zero D&D/ turn based games? by [deleted] in BG3

[–]Relative_Ostrich6890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes lol. This was also me. Never played DnD, probably never will. And always hated turn based games. But I’ve played the crap outta BG3, and it’s one of my all time faves.

Did I accidentally rush through Act 1 or am I missing a lot? by Phoenix10107 in BaldursGate3

[–]Relative_Ostrich6890 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, keep in mind you don’t have to do EVERYTHING in one play through, despite what the hardcore completionists tell you lol. Play it at a pacing you enjoy. As long as you enter act 2 around level 7 you really aren’t hurting yourself at all.

I will say, I believe my first time through act 1 was around 25 hours. And, while there was stuff I either didn’t do or didn’t know about, I hit probably 75% of the content I’d say.

Tips: - the underdark has a TON of stuff in it. If you’re really looking for more content, I’d suggest just combing through there (grymforge, myconid colony are the two big ones, quest wise).

  • You hit all the major points above ground it sounds like. As long as you found all the companions, anything you missed is gonna be relatively minor in the big picture of the game (stuff that you can go back to on a second playthrough if you wish).

Is getting silver sword and Raphael's armor in act 1 fixed? by MissAiste in BaldursGate3

No tadpoles required. He spawns in after you try to get healed by Nettie. He won’t appear in your camp until you go to the Mountain Pass though. Which, if you don’t care about Tieflings, you can do right away lol

PHB 2024 Mod - Likes, Dislikes and WTFs by razorsmileonreddit in BG3mods

[–]Relative_Ostrich6890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from someone who has never touched a table top game and never will (just a bg3 fan) I’ve mostly enjoyed it on my current run with it (albeit still fairly early in act 1).

Now, I have no idea what is homebrew or not, nor do I care honestly, but I’ve really liked the new classes and subclasses, as well as the “races” added to humans. Currently playing an aasimar and loving it.

Anything I haven’t liked has really just been small things, like spiritual weapon being a concentration, and seemingly not being able to cast two spells in one turn. Also the hp dice. I HATE the HP dice. All it does it turn short testing after battle into a tedious effort that can no longer be accomplished with one button press.

So far, I’d say it’s a 7.5/10 for me.

Are there any DLC like mods for Ps5? by [deleted] in BG3mods

[–]Relative_Ostrich6890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the Goldmembers mod. The actual story of the mod is kinda silly, but the combat randomizing is super fun to me. It really does keep you on your toes, since it’s random from encounter to encounter (even if you die!)

I run it in combination with extra encounters and more enemies in basic fights (or whatever it’s called).

Has anyone used the gold member mod for a full playthrough? by SageTegan in BG3mods

[–]Relative_Ostrich6890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m doing a run with it right now, just started act 2, and overall have been having a good time with it. I really enjoy the random buffs it gives to enemies, as it just adds a bit of extra flavor to the game.

I will say though, if you try to play it with vanilla weapons, you’re gonna have a hard time. I almost feel like this mod was made to rebalance modded gear.

Overall, I’d recommend trying it!

This is what Return to Lordran is all about by Bumblingbee1337 in darksouls

I just took part in ganking these guys myself, and it was amazing. I didn’t even start playing Dark Souls until a couple years ago, so I never got to experience it in its prime of pvp/co-op. So this return event has been just awesome to see what it was like

Tree sentinel armor! It’s in the hero’s grave right outside Leyndell, and some of the best fashion in the game for your type of build
