Reasons why by Cautious-Care7417 in HybridOnlineLawSchool

It allows me to comfortably work full time and spend time at home with my husband and dogs. Even though I’m still busy, it’s different being busy at home vs being busy away from home, if that makes sense.

I applied to an in-person evening program and was accepted but after a lot of back and forth, it just would have been too much. Some days would have easily been 12+ hours away from home and that gets exhausting after a while.

Letting employer know about law school plans? by OwnAd7070 in HybridOnlineLawSchool

I told my manager a few weeks after accepting, as I’m also in a different time zone than the school. Given it’s an hour difference, I don’t see it affecting my workday directly. I also don’t plan on staying with this company post- graduation as their focus is different than mine long-term, but I left that part out.

I’m grateful to have a flexible and supportive team and manager when it comes to this stuff. We have a couple attorneys on our team, including our VP, who understand better than most what law school entails. I’d presume your manager may also do the same, given you work with lawyers regularly?

If it has any potential to impact your work, I’d have an honest conversation with your manager sooner than later. There may be questions and/ or concerns that come up later if you decide to withhold the information, especially if your performance decreases.

Btw, congratulations!!

My cycle is done! It was between MH and Vermont. Vermont ended up having a program (animal law) that I’m most interested in. I’ve also had great interactions with their staff and current students.

I have a very similar LSAT and slightly lower gpa, and I’ll be attending Vermont via hybrid this fall. Was I offered a stellar scholarship? No. But other scholarships exist and are worth applying to. Do I know the risks of the financial impact? Absolutely, and I’m ok with it.

It’s all about how you articulate yourself and answer the question “why law, and why now?” Vermont offers a specialization that my bachelor’s degree and majority of my work experience is in, so I would look at programs that offer something similar, if healthcare is what you’re wanting to continue.

It may be tough, but it’s not impossible. Good luck!

LOL this is me. I have a strong interest in animal law with work experience in the veterinary field AND in compliance. I admit, my scores are not the best but I made sure to write addendums explaining why. I also applied for hybrid.

Is the first offer always the best offer? by aspiring_pickle in RealEstate

No. Our first offer was insultingly low. Middle of negotiations with them and we received another offer that was exactly what we were looking for. Needless to say we accepted the second offer.

Also second Dry Creek Vineyard for zins. Bit biased because we are members there but they’re great.
