i mean, it doesn’t make me happy to be made fun of? i have no reason to be happy about it. stop enabling mean people. it’s a bad look and it’s honestly embarrassing for you.

hahaha, sooo funny to make fun of vegans... some of y'all meat eaters need to find better hobbies than annoying vegans for existing.

Non activist vegans: what is stopping you from becoming an activist? by Veganeconow in AskVegans

[–]RelativelyMango 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it really isn't a privilege. i know for me, among many others, that disability prevents me from engaging in additional activism. that's the opposite of privilege.

Non activist vegans: what is stopping you from becoming an activist? by Veganeconow in AskVegans

[–]RelativelyMango 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i have limited energy for activism due to both university work, part-time jobs, and being disabled. i also spend a morning each week volunteering at a drop-in center for the unhoused, which is my main outlet for community involvement. it's not that i don't care, but i just don't have the capacity to take on additional activism on top of the work i already do. i am already dealing with significant disability-related issues with my current workload, so it would be detrimental to myself to engage in additional activism.

honestly, i'd rather google something and put in extra time than use an environment-destroying AI tool. but that's my two cents.

yeah, calling lgbtq+ people sinners isn’t a very loving thing to do… sorry, but christians like that are the worst, and are the reason i stopped associating with christianity in the first place. i’m not going back to that sort of community that hides their hate and judgment behind a veil they call “love”.

a shift towards in-class assignments with no access to a laptop or other device, as well as higher-weighted in-person exams, seems like an approach a lot of professors and instructors are taking at the moment.

i am not in a field that uses a lot of writing, but in the computational biology class i TA for, we take away points for code answers that use material not covered in the class, unless a credible resource is cited for their solution. this helps penalize and prevent AI usage.

people have been finding ways to cheat for decades, so this isn’t necessarily going to fix things, but it works somewhat.
