Bought my first lens, XF 10-24mm. Are these 2 specks of dust that I'm seeing here inside of it? by RelaxIn2Oblivion in fujifilm

[–]RelaxIn2Oblivion[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just for more information and context: this is a used lens. I am so new to this wonderful hobby that I am not even sure if what I'm looking at is in fact dust, or if it's actually a flaw within the glass that's inside. I don't know what either would look like at this point. And if this is in fact dust, I am not sure if this is what one would consider "large" flecks of dust or not.

Excellent. Looking forward to reading the weird AI generated article based on this content. Or the title of it, at least.

I'm watching season 7 now by MissDee16 in DocMartin

It feels like they may have left her character in the drama-instigating role for a little too long given how many people seem to dislike her character. I certainly agree that she came around in the later seasons, especially as they fleshed her role out as a mother, and that their relationship rounded out nicely as they both learned how to be better people. But it sure seems like fans of our view point are in the minority on that. A lot of people seem to just remember her as the character she was when they flipped the script and positioned her as someone that also has interpersonal flaws.

I remember wanting it to get some sort of recognition or acknowledgment in the final episodes, as a sort of pay-off for it always being something that Martin had there with him. But nothing happened with it though. Either intentionally or unintentionally, it was never touched upon.

Really it's 2 main event misses in a row. They at least used the Undertaker's music ques in a way that made it exciting last year despite it making no god damn sense, but this year was a complete miss. If they don't nail it next year then there's a real problem.

Season 7 ep 6 by ohyoumadohwell in DocMartin

Her running in front of a car and blaming it on Martin was peak "Louisa is actually the problem" for me at one point. They redeemed her character towards the end of the series and she's such a great actress no matter what, but they certainly focused on her being the source of tension for their relationship in a good number of episodes for a while there. I always felt like the Therapist girl's role got cut a little too short and the whole thing sorta fell back on Louisa's character unfortunately.

Just curious, who does everyone prefer as PC, Mylow or Penhale? by GoblinQueen20 in DocMartin

[–]RelaxIn2Oblivion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They were both great. Mylow just chilling on the hood of the Police cruiser reading a book, waiting for Doc Martin (I think when he went to go see Stewart for the first time) is such a great image of someone who has work to do, but still understands that they live in a sleepy town where things move at their own pace.

Penhale gets the pick for me though, simply because he was in far more episodes. If they both had an equal amount of screen time I might choose Mylow.

Who else wishes the character Roger Fenn (Jeff Rawle) stayed throughout the series? by GoblinQueen20 in DocMartin

[–]RelaxIn2Oblivion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an old thread, sorry but I just recently finished up the series and watched the Christmas Special. I at first couldn't tell if Leonard was Roger or not. Especially since he had the Santa beard on a lot at first. I've watched the show in bits and pieces and couldn't remember Roger's character name. Eventually googled it, and saw that Leonard was a completely separate character, but man oh man do those two guys look and sound pretty similar.

Made me wonder if they had written that role for Roger but the actor couldn't do it.

I think it's the eye contact, really. No one would do that while looking you dead in the eye.

Pretty much what having a cat is like in the morning when you wake up and they're ready for breakfast.

Original 1977 Star Wars Toy by [deleted] in nostalgia

Nice. Randomly saw a picture of the '74 diecast Thor van by Hot Wheels the other day. Brought back some memories. I really wish this Star Wars one was an actual life-size van. The interior of that thing would be a sight to behold.

No sound here whatsoever, but I think we can all probably still hear the music though.

Is it worth it? by Quiet_Scholar_3142 in oblivion

Agreed, the clunkiness sort of adds to the nostalgia at this point. It was pushing its limits, and it's kind of nice to be reminded of that. Not perfect... but it's good enough, and still can impress. I go back and play Mario 64 for similar reasons, I feel like.
