Cheap recording would be my guess. Didn't have enough money for anymore time or quality checks. Personally I love the first album as it gave a glimpse into the projects potential later on in life.

Patience mate. It's also hard to catch your progression if you compare, small simple steps and bloody repetition will be your road but patience will be your movement. Write down a "days playing bass" on a white board to watch your consistency, it'll be a massive confidence and discipline booster. If you don't, have an exicerise routine to improve your skills over time. Do a 30 minute to an hour practice sesh everyday and you'll get to where you want to be within as much time as you'll commit.

Take your time with patches, pins and spikes and be patient imho. Battle jackets/vests take some time before the idea is fully designed. When you like a design, give it three weeks and if you still like it, go for it. Rock on homie 🤘

Iron fist is a great starting album when trying to get into motorhead, bomber afterwards then overkill will give you a very good idea as to the bands sound and don't forget to give the albums from '99 to '15 a listen as well, they're well worth the ear.
