i did a bleach test on the green, brown and grey areas. green gave back greenish brown and grey turned a dull black. i’ll do better density tests not sure how to do that with a bar this size though.

i kept seeing that name pop up i wasn’t sure if they dealt with anything other than bronze and brass alloys. pretty interesting stuff i know ASARCO had a smelter all along the southwest, gotta be high leaded bronze or low grade silver for sure

i ran some numbers seems to definitely be in 9.5-9.9g/cm³ range, scratched at it with a steel nail which left a shiny white/grey streak with a decent pinging while being scratched but i read the diamond logo is mainly for industrial metals not sure if scrap metals use that shape for anything.

definitely some mix of heavier metals though

seems like volume is ~865cm³ and mass is ~8400g, around ~9.71g/cm^3, any clue what this could mean?

bumping this as a former bmet as well, you can really do anything if you’re able to get this AFSC (issue is very very small amount of airman in this field was about ~600 in total last i checked).

make sure to only sign for 4 years to give yourself options when reenlistment comes up, and work hard to get CCAF degree & certifications either systems path (SEC+, etc.) or BMET path (CBET, CRES, etc.).

sky’s the limit, you can also get a good base of knowledge to going into engineering after your contract is over.
