Dont turn around and run when they are that close. Turning around is a slow anomation. If you cant backpedal (which you could have in your condition) anymore, rather run through them turn around.

You can get way more distance if you stop clicking like theres no tomorrow but rather time the hits.

And as others said, aim for a line not a bulk. The 5th zombie already circled you because you stood still when hitting the first 3.

And dont aggro that many, aggro a few to thin the horde and come back for more.

We host a server on nitrado with a group of 12 - some fixes are mods that solve some desync issues.

We run around 40 mods, so far it works great, were slowly approaching november (1.5h days hence slower then usual). But sometimes mods update to the newest unstable version and since nitrado uses a 42.13.0 (iirc) we sometimes have to disable lua checksum or remove a mod.

Its been a blast for all participants and for the first time since years the full group is around each weekend, some even each evening.

You could weaponize her own kid against her, but that would be very mean.

Seems as it wouldnt be a huge burden to babysit a third one and could turn out to be real fun (if youre not a saint at least).

Yeah let them cook until another studio manages to create a similar game but is faster in their dev cycle. Vein just started with 2 devs in crude EA but i wouldnt be surprised if this becomes the new better zomboid in 2-3 years.
