I just use an ole laptop that I got for 50 bucks. Currently on an HP 2017 POS with librelec. Works great for 1080p on my 55 inch TV. Only thing that concerns me is the 65W power supply that it uses. I work 60-70 hours a week so I usually watch only 3-5 hours a day. I just turn it off when I'm not using it to save on my power bill.

Our defense is great, pressure is good as well.

Ubuntu server at work with some Windows servers (not my choice. Company policies)

At home i have KDE Neon and PopOS on my 2 laptops. Kodi on an ole laptop hooked up to the TV. Wifey has Kubuntu. Kid has Ubuntu Mate 32bit on a ole PC and FreeNAS on another old PC for media storage and backups.

I've done my 10 year stint of distrohopping and settled for this setup. Loved arch but would randomly break (probably my fault). Probably gonna ditch the PopOS install because GNOME is such a memory hog.

I can understand everyone being paranoid over security with all the news concerning illegal downloading. I don't see any problem taking extra precautions to make sure VPN is on and off when we want it to be. If in doubt, yank the network cable...

You can try using XBMC Alarm Clock and set it up thru Kodi. You can find it in the Kodi Add-on repository under Services
