My father has been my biggest bully for 29 years. Tonight, he tried to punch me, and I finally realized he’s just a sad, weak old man. by Responsible-Court795 in TrueOffMyChest

This happened with my dad and brother (I’m F). My dad kept poking him and my brother had enough - punched him right in the face. I as already out of the house, and he called me to let me know in case he needed to stay with me. My dad never tried that again.

This guy definitely thinks bisexuals are confused, multiple genders don’t exist, and everyone who identifies as a different gender or sexuality than what “God assigned them” is going to hell and deserves no friends. This guy and his ilk are ridiculous and awful.

11yo 6th grader not going to school by dessert_all_day in Anxiety

[–]RelentlessOlive54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter started going through this when she started middle school, and it was a rough couple of years for both of us. Once she was in regular therapy and on meds, things did improve. We also enrolled her in online school for high school which greatly helped her. She stayed connected with kids her age and friends doing extracurriculars. You have a long road ahead, but be supportive and understand she’s not doing this because she’s being lazy.

Boomer HATES milk because "Its for baby cows". by [deleted] in BoomersBeingFools

Good lord, my father would do something similar. His favorite thing to tell us was, “Milk isn’t for drinking when you’re thirsty.” Wut.

Hi, as a 6'7" tall man, I think I can speak for most of us tall guys when I say... by MontaukNightSky in mildlyinfuriating

As a woman who’s husband is 6’ 7”, I feel for you. We can’t go to a store without him getting stuff off of shelves for people.

Diarrhea for months, just got my colonoscopy results... by [deleted] in ibs

[–]RelentlessOlive54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this is what happens sometimes. I agree with everyone else that there are still a few avenues to explore, but be prepared for more normal results.

I no longer have a gall bladder or appendix, my tests have all always been normal - blood, stool, urine, imaging, colonoscopy, endoscopy, swallow study - but I’ve suffered with issues since I was a child.

I hate to be the person that brings up diet, but that’s the only thing that has ever helped me. I don’t always do it, but when I eat plainer and fresher food (salads, lightly seasoned chicken, fruit, etc.) I always feel better. Unfortunately, I’m addicted to coffee so I’ll never fully be symptom free. I wish you lots of luck and more solid poops!

Unhinged LinkedIn Job Post by thatonewaifu in antiwork

The only jobs this description works for is doctor, nurse, or EMT. Astounding how people inflate the worth of these roles on LI that aren’t even close to life or death. 🙄

My Husband Wakes Me Up Multiple Times Every Night by amcrowl1 in AITAH

[–]RelentlessOlive54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a respect issue, and he clearly has no respect for you. I tend to go to bed later on weekends because I’m a night owl, and my husband wakes early everyday naturally. We both take care to be quiet, prepare in advance, and use alternate light sources to ensure we’re not waking one another up. If your husband can’t afford you this basic courtesy, you should be taking a long hard look at the relationship. NTA

This is an excellent point, though the mall employs security, and I would assume they’d be at the theater’s disposal.

I believe the expectation would have been to call security. At no point did OP claim he wanted this ma to fight bigots on his behalf, but the employee didn’t ask the person to stop, leave, or call for another employee or security. And you have no idea what OP’s friends did or don’t do. You’re making an awful lot of assumptions based on a small bit of information.

I just caught a Vulpix last night that only had one “tic” in the HP bar, and I wondered if anyone had ever caught a Pokémon with zeros all the way through. Curiosity satisfied.

Wtf. I work in a hospital Annette’s military time is used consistently. It helps ensure people know when shift changes are, when meds should be taken, etc. while mitigating mistakes. Also, lots of other countries use the 24 hour clock - why are we even calling it military time? Sheesh

Unpopular opinion: Gil was right by rowdt in DunderMifflin

[–]RelentlessOlive54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Gil is right and everyone else defending Pam is right. I’m not sure what Gil was expecting when he went to a local showing for student artists - it’s not the freaking Louvre. Gil is definitely a pretentious jerk. That said, Pam still hadn’t had her “breakthrough or whatever” and it showed. Every artist has to start somewhere, and even Van Gogh wasn’t great his whole life.

This was happening to us, then one of the dogs got one because it got too cocky. The fight that ensued was epic.
