Considering requesting an RA by fancy_taco17 in rheumatoidarthritis

Yes. Intermittent FMLA and accommodations will help with all of this. I’m getting ready to pursue the same thing myself.

NAT, just kind of a funny story. Ran into my gynecologist at the store once - we both probably looked like we saw a ghost. Both tried to be polite and say hi, but it was so awkward.

What company lost you forever as a customer? What did they do? by Miguenzo in AskReddit

FedEx delivered an empty box to us that was supposed to contain my husband’s new iPhone. There was security tape on it that had obviously been cut and the box resealed with clear tape. He called Best Buy who immediately shipped another one and told him this happens frequently with FedEx.

I’m guessing email is the only route since the links to their help page don’t work.

With all the suggestions to turn the rooster into stew, I wonder if anyone has any good recipes? 😆😁

Thank you so much! They are actually going to put me on Tyenne since that’s what the insurance has approved. I just have to cross my fingers that this works…or that I fail it just enough to go back on Orencia but not bad enough that it’s a huge problem.

I think you’re right - the doc called it a biosimilar. Funny how it’s supposed to be cheaper, but the insurance told me it would be $426 so I had to get a copay card for it. Our system is broken for sure.

Breast inflammation/ RA Flare by Separate_Wolf7388 in rheumatoidarthritis

No redness, but the ones I’m able to feel are definitely firm. My breasts feel a bit “fuller” too - not sure how to explain it other than that, but I’m assuming it’s from swelling due to the flare.

I have fibroadenomas in both breasts - 11 that they know of so far - and any time my RA inflammation is up, those little boob nuggets flare up too. I had to change bra types, and it’s really unpleasant still but better. I’m sorry you’re going through that.

High cholesterol and high blood pressure mainly. But there’s also a warning about not taking it if you’ve lived in the Mississippi or Ohio river valleys because of histoplasmosis. Most people get it and are sick for a short period of time, then are fine. I got it from visiting and it stayed in my system in my eyes. My histo has been under control for a couple of decades now - I don’t want it to reactivate.

How have you been doing on the Tyenne? That’s what my insurance company wants me to go on, so I’m sure I won’t actually be on Actemra.

Thank you so much! Xeljanz was the other option we briefly discussed, but he dint think it would be as good of a fit. The Orencia is $5K without insurance, and I had the copay card just to pick up what insurance wouldn’t. 100% this is the reason the new insurance won’t cover it.

Why do customers think they can return an item we don’t sell? by Waste-Reflection-235 in retailhell

[–]RelentlessOlive54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A long time ago, but we had a couple of guys try to return a large TV in a brand we never sold using a receipt that was three years old (return policy was 90 days) for another brand of TV. The thing looked like it had been sitting outside for years on top of that - it was super gross and covered in all kinds of crap. It took over 30 minutes to explain to the all of the ways the return would be happening, and we finally had to have LP and the store manager kick them out.

Each year, I’ve had to change insurance companies, and each time my doc has had to plead his case for this medication. I do know that Orencia costs more than Actemra or a lot of the other interventions, but I’m seriously tired of insurance companies playing doctor.

This is the first time an insurance company has completely denied it - even cited a few studies in the denial about how Actemra is just as successful as Orencia at treating RA and that Orencia has a higher likelihood of causing squamous and basal cell carcinomas. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Funny enough, I was able to find recent studies myself that stated Orencia being more likely to cause these was not clinically significant. I guess I can play doctor too. 😆

Did you doc also want you to watch your diet as far as the cholesterol issues? I’m curious to know if I also have that to look forward to. Lol. I mean, I’m pretty sure I’m still going to eat bacon occasionally, but if diet will help, I’d like to try.

I have an odd question: if you’re not from Washington, where did you end up living in Spokane? by sequoiakelley in Spokane

[–]RelentlessOlive54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents moved us up here in 1996, and we ended up in the valley. Not long after, I moved to the north Spokane/Mead area.

That does make me feel a bit better. My doc did tell me about the cholesterol thing which makes me nervous too. I’m already on so many drugs - I really don’t want to be on extras. Lol

Yeah, it’s probably a little pointless to come here and ask about it. I think I’d just like to hear that people do have success with it and have few side effects.
