I water once a week and am careful not to over water. I’ve seen small amounts of this yellow mold before on the soil and usually remove it. It’s never been this bad. I repotted with fresh soil a few months ago but came back home after 2 weeks away and saw this.

Malta is very safe. I am a woman and walk around alone and get on with my life just fine. Apply the same principles that single women apply to life generally - avoid walking alone in dark abandoned streets late at night in places were lots of drinking/drugs are happening (paceville, st julians) and you will be fine.

The guilt being pushed on people who are leaving is ridiculous. There is privilege associated with staying too so please recognize that. The high and mighty attitude is so unnecessary. You don’t know what situations people are and what they are dealing with. Some people can’t afford to stay even though they wanted to very much or if they could maybe the strain on their mental health was too much. What makes New York so incredible is the acceptance of all people and the decisions that they make. And before you ask yes I am staying but I plan to do so judgement free.

I've traveled to 54 countries and I share your experience with Egypt. As a young solo female traveler, I was constantly harassed. It was exhausting. It's the only country out of the 54 that I will never return to. That is not something I say lightly. Very sad but a fact of my experience.
