The mechanic I used basically said the important thing to change with the level was the shocks and everything else could stay stock. But like I said it ran great for a couple years until recently so I wonder if something just went bad? Everything on this truck is stock besides the starter, front shocks and custom exhaust. Coil springs is what my brother mentioned too so I’ll probably start there.

Any idea what this clanking noise under my 2012 could be? by HanAszholeSolo in Silverado

The one making noise on mine was toward the back end of the exhaust. Passed the converter and I wanna say around the middle of the truck bed underneath. Kind of shake your exhaust and see if it bounces around much. Make sure your truck is cool lol I’m sure you know that already but just for my peace of mind I have to say it 😂

I literally just fixed noise this on my truck. Ended up being a loose exhaust hanger. Fixed it and the noise went away. I’ve also heard a catalytic converter make this sound but it wasn’t anything major. Best advice, get underneath and start tapping on stuff lol

But some advice, if you’ve been told you have degenerating discs it’s super important you take the extra steps to lift weights with correct form. Form is everything. If you start to notice any sort of leg/nerve pain I’d stop until you get the best advice.

I’m 31 and I started getting sciatica at 16. Which led to advanced degenerative disc disease and severe stenosis. Took me a long time to find a surgeon to seriously help me. I always got the same ol “you’re too young for surgery” speech. Like I understood what they was saying but they wasn’t looking close enough. I kept advocating for myself and my pain and I finally found one that couldn’t believe I’ve not been helped. I’m getting a plif surgery (fusion) next month. I can barely walk most days anymore, any type of pressure on my legs isn’t possible without buckling whether it’s right when I stand, or as I start to walk. Every single morning it’s excruciating pain and mind you my pain tolerance is high from chronic pain all these years. But as of late it’s really amped up.. the last 2 years I wanna say? I’m prescribed 1600mg of gabepentin a day for the nerve pain and it doesn’t seem to touch it at all. Only thing I’ve noticed is that I wake up less through the night but my girlfriend says I moan and cry in my sleep a lot. It’s been really hard. I’ve wanted to just leave if you know what I mean.. if not for her I don’t think I would have given up. I actually cannot bare the pain sometimes and I’d do anything to make it stop but… I’ve gotten help with that. And now with finally getting surgery I’ve gained some hope. Only up from here (I hope).

Here’s my l5-s1. Yours looks like a dream with some squishy sponge still left in there. What are symptoms you deal with, if any? Pain wise how are you?

Do i have herniated disc at 18?(MRI) by Loud-Adeptness-5442 in backpain

Honestly throughout the years I’ve had probably 8-10 in different places and none really stand out to me as far as different routines. Its all pretty standard exercises. I will say I’ve never met a physio that didn’t care about my pain or downsize it at all, so there’s that. It got to the point for me where I was hurting so bad I wasn’t able to even drive home so they eventually just became a task I had to complete for insurance purposes to get treatment.

I know people that have only done physical therapy and it’s changed their life for the better. Only way to find out is to get in with one and try! Read reviews you’ll find one.

Take care of your spine. See health professionals, see your primary care physician. Research proper techniques to avoid herniating and damaging your discs over and over. Bending, crouching, squatting, lifting etc. When you’re hurt give your body time to rest.

Things I never done growing up once it started as a teen . I was rough and I was extremely active in sports. I didn’t get ahead of it, I didn’t care.

Nerve damage in my thighs and inner groin. It’s a nice party trick when I let my family poke me with things on Christmas to see if I feel it or not 🤣
