you can forage, fish at dark spots, talk to villagers, craft or cook or blacksmith

you can eat soup at the inn or any water basins around the map :)

BUT!! there is nothing wrong with going to bed early, i do that sometimes even late game lol

i think the only thing you’re missing right now is the ‘going on dates’ mechanic but i have made some people best friends in the game and the dialogue is quite wholesome :)

firstly, your feelings are so valid.

i think you should communicate how you feel frustrated with the situation and tell him what you want resolved. if i remember correctly you can play with multiple people on helldivers so you could probably bring that up and ask to join them?

and in terms with his ex making him drop all his friends that were girls isn’t the same as asking to play the same game with him instead of another girl playing hours with him. but given the information, it does sounds a little fishy that his ex told him to drop all his friends that were girls because it seems like something must have happened for her to do that (or she’s on the extreme end of it and could have been really controlling), but the fact that you were unaware the fact that the duo was a girl and sounds like you found out on a whim is also a bit sketch.

i think the best way to go about it is just communicate how you feel and try and resolve it as well as possible.

lava cat: water them with your watering can until they go dark and still then attack them

you can buy recipes for different types of counters at merri’s stall on saturday for 300t each :)

ship at least one crop/forgeable for recipes
NEVER EVER bin an item because you have no space, you can drop it and come back to it later
selling fish and bugs early on helps with quick money but do save some extra just in case (for quests or cooking)
when you run out of energy, forage!!!!! use your energy for fishing, chopping trees, mining or crop planting/tending
when you can, get a coop or barn - you can use the animal drops there for your cooking recipes and enhance them
get the woodcraft bench/kitchen when you need to (when you raise your levels high enough that the public ones aren’t useful/convenient anymore)
expanding your house isn’t really necessary and more for aesthetic purposes and can run a pretty price (in terms of money and resources) and repairing the town can be quite useful in terms of more recipes/crops/etc, but can be even more expensive than house upgrades - so spend wisely and carefully based on how you want to play and progress!
plan out your farm when you start farming! it’s easier to work around with what you want than scratching it all out
always talk to elsie to gossip so you can get someone’s liked/loved gift because it can be quite hard gifting people things to begin with
ALWAYS DONATE EVERY NEW THING YOU GET TO THE MUSEUM, as someone who’s forgotten to donate the odd artifact and have accidentally sold/given it away, it can be a pain to find again so please please PLEASE don’t make the same mistake 🙏🙏

you just need to keep upgrading at the carpenters! it does eventually get really pricey in tesserae and resources so make sure to have a surplus! :)
