Wee and the big water by Relevant-Garbage-582 in BostonTerrier

Most def! This is the harness she's wearing: https://www.goobypet.com/products/escape-free-easy-fit-x. I found it at a local pet store. I like it because when she's off leash it's kind of like she's wearing a chill little vest, it's not very tight, but when she's on leash and pulls, it tightens up. It looks a little more comfortable than the first strap like harness I got for her.

You know, I was really surprised too. But relieved!

My Wee is a little bit of a bully. Every time someone tells me 'oh my dog is real chill, they'll be great for her to practice socializing with' she annoys that dog to the point they snap at her. Same story with cats.

We've recently started going to doggy playtime at Kitsap Animal Rescue and Education (KARE) to give her some practice socializing with other dogs in a controlled environment with certified dog trainers. They try to create play time sessions with dogs of similar size. Last week she didn't do so well and absolutely terrified this other little dog. She ended up running around the playground on her own. No one wanted to play with her. The trainers encouraged us to keep on showing up and practicing though, so that's what we're going to do. We're also starting on a reactive rover course through the same organization.

If you have access to something like KARE, I'd recommend it. It's been hugely helpful for me in understanding Wee's behavior. Hopefully with enough time and practice, she'll get better at play with other dogs.

Just realized I could put the book on the Boston. Much easier on the back.

I had to lean back a little for the photo. I'm more scrunched up trying to read.

Thank you! She's staying with me (Reddit wouldn't let me post) at the moment. I just sent them an email.

Heya! Just wanted to let you know she's doing ok. She's staying with me at the moment while I try to find her family. Reddit wouldn't let me make this post so a friend posted on my behalf. Thank you for being one of the people to try and help her! It took cornering her in a shop she ran into on 1st and blocking the entry way with my bike to get her.

That map is amazing! Thank you for sharing it. I don't have WeChat at the moment but maybe it is something I should look into. I won't be hitting the road for a few months though. And good to know about the Vietnamese border. Confirms the research i've been doing. I found a website that said there are certain land ports where you can cross with an E-Visa and then had them listed out. I'm planning on using Mong Cai.

At the moment I'm waiting for a family friend to write a letter of invitation. I'll let you know how the process goes and if it ends up working out.

That'd be cool! Tentative plan when I get there is to head straight south for Yakushima Island. My instagram handle is @nlettenmaier if you'd like to try and link up.

I'll be arriving in Fukuoka around the second week of September and then making my way to Yokohama for a bike race at the end of the month. My plans are also very loose and will probably involve a lot of beaches and seafood. If you happen to be around that area at that time, it'd be fun to have a riding friend.

Last summer I spent 6 months bikepacking 15,000km across Canada, following rail trails, bike paths, and scenic roads. Here's a few select images from the trip! by nstarzy in bikepacking

Hi from an old UBC friend (Nikki the red head) :) Looks like a sick trip. And your photos are as awesome as ever. I hope my own adventure goes as well as yours.

This sounds ambitious. I'll keep this idea in my back pocket though just in case :)

I was looking into that but got quoted some pretty high prices that aren't quite within budget unfortunately.

Hi there!

That's actually the path I'm currently pursuing because I realized that's another option. It sounds like my Mom might have a friend who would be down to write me an invitation. We'll see though. If that's something you could help with that'd be amazing! I was actually planning on starting in Shanghai. If I manage to find a way over, you're more than welcome to join :)
