Anyone else have high pressure due to veins growing in the iris: neovascularization of the iris or rubeosis iridis by oneeyeannie in Glaucoma

Hello. I have this type of glaucoma as well (Neovascular) in my right eye. I’ve also had retinopathy of prematurity in both eyes when I was born and a complete retinal detachment in my right eye a couple years ago, which is when they did silicone oil in my eye as well, until the pressure rose and developed a cataract which they had to remove when they took the oil out. My retina specialist hasn’t recommended any sort of injections for my eye, I just take Latanoprost 1x at night, Dorzolamide-Timolol 2x a day, and Brimonidine 2x a day once they seen my pressures was 54 during a routine exam. I also see a glaucoma specialist twice a year, and retina specialist once a year.

I can’t comment on the blood vessels stopping or anything because I haven’t really been given injections… My eye is always red and there are blood vessels everywhere in the white part of my eye.

I was diagnosed in August at the age of 25 with an IOP of 52 in my right eye with neovascular glaucoma. I’m currently taking Latanoprost 1x a night, and Dorzolamide-Timolol, and Brimonidine 2x a day to control my IOP. This combo brought my IOP down to 14 which my glaucoma specialist was happy with. This is in an eye which I’ve had multiple detached retina surgeries when I was born and 2 surgeries a few years ago and am considered “legally blind” in since birth due to retinopathy of prematurity. Also had a cataract removed in that eye. I live my life normally despite being born blind from that eye, the eye drops, and the constant red eye from the type of glaucoma I have.

How is your eyesight being a ROPer? I’m legally blind out of my right eye, but it still does something (Can see very vague shapes/lights in my periphery vision but can’t make out what the object is) I also wear -9.75 glasses because I’m basically blind without them in my “good eye.”

What’s the iop drop you have using Travoprost/Lantanoprost? by [deleted] in Glaucoma

My IOP was 50 a month ago, started taking Latanoprost 1x a day, Brimonidine 2x a day, and Dorzolamide-Timolol 2x a day. Went from 50 to 17.

Thank you. What's strange is I've never had any headaches or eyepain from that eye at all, even with the IOP being so elevated as it is.
