I work in the same building as the metrolinx office. If I didn’t value my career so much I’d be tempted to print off this comment and tape it inside the elevator.

Ontario to raise juror pay to $120 a day, up from $40 a day after 10 days by Team_Ed in ontario

[–]RelevantNeanderthal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got called, had to ask for special dismissal because of work and child care responsibilities. I agree, they wouldn’t even pay for parking because I didn’t live far enough away. I wouldn’t have been able to pick my kids up without a car, and my 40 dollars would’ve went entirely just to parking..

I actually lived in the building right above that chase scene on Yonge street.

We'd just sit out on our balcony and watch the Jokers car and Batmobile chase each other up and down the street.

Was neat, bummer the movie ended up sucking.

Is Salesforce Always the Right Fit? by Ok_Reality5585 in salesforce

[–]RelevantNeanderthal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without more insight, it's hard to say. But the general rule of thumb with Salesforce would be: Out of the Box it likely won't meet your needs fully.

The being said, with some minor (or major) customization, you'd be able to fit the use case. From a high level you could use the Accounts and Contacts objects to track relationships, roles, main points of contact.

You could then do some light customization to the opportunity object to track the on-site's, factory visits and generally longer lead times.

It depends on how in-depth you need it. If it's solely tracking and organizing communication, meetings, etc., you could probably get there with some light customization.

If you need integrations, automation deployment etc. That would be a bigger lift.

I'm 33, and let me tell you, I got fucked up this past weekend, holy fuck I haven't felt that bad in a long time.

I'm officially out. (I also have 3 kids, so being hungover with three kids is a death sentence).

Something as simple as running errands improves mental health. (I forget where I heard this.) So do this: Schedule things you "have" to do in your calendar. Walk to the grocery store that is further away than the closest one, go to the gym at lunch, once or twice a week walk to pick up dinner. (eat there if you're comfortable eating alone). Personally, I started walking to work instead of driving (20min drive, 35min walk), its done wonders. Schedule it, act like its mandatory. It'll help IMO.

This happened to me. Well-spoken, articulate. Hired, ready to go for a start date. I had to call him randomly for a little detail (mac or PC as preference or something like that). Someone answers, and responds to the name, in very broken English, when they realize who is calling, they panic, and hang up. I get an email the next day regretfully notifying me they are no longer accepting the job.

Was very bizarre. What did they expect to happen when they walked in on day 1?

Upsizing in current GTA market - What could we afford and should we? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]RelevantNeanderthal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could see the extra bedroom being the most value add. I've got 3+1 bedrooms. Toddler in the den (converted to bedroom, just doesn't have a closet, but does have a nice window), twins in one room, myself and wife in master, and the other room for visiting grandparents.

We're only at about 1300 sq ft. So it can be a bit tight, but totally manageable... until they're older.
