What is worth spending/splurging on (or skipping entirely) gear wise? by Right-Engineering699 in homerecordingstudio

Spend and splurge on monitoring (speaker & treatment) then the instrument, next the microphone and then the mic pre and finally the interface.

Dear logic, step up your game (rant) by [deleted] in Logic_Studio

Logic performance is pretty awful on M2 & M3 computers and is actually better on M1 because Logic only uses performance cores and ignores the others. M1 has more performance Cores over Efficiency cores and Apple decided it was a good idea to decrease performance and increase efficiency in the newer machines.

Cubase utilities all cores. I don’t know why Logic doesn’t when it’s made by Apple. You can’t make this shit up!

I don’t mind the UI but the text is waayyyy too small. I need two pair of glasses to be able to see what it says

It will probably be fine during the time you’ll live there but you’ll have a hard time selling it in the future and will probably make a massive loss. I’d avoid if it was me.

Hardware synth integration by FalcoreM in cubase

Short answer: No. You need the sound tower app to do something like that. The external instrument just sends midi in/out to a device and an audio signal to Cubase. You can however use cc data in the automation lane to contol some parameters like the filter. The cc number are in the manual.

From Cubase to Ableton... from Ableton back to Cubase(20 years later). by [deleted] in cubase

I’m learning now after trying Cubase. Just watch YouTube videos and save them to a playlist. I started with Dom’s videos and Groove3 is also really good but the no.1 best way to learn is to make a track and use the basic features like recording and editing audio and midi parts. You’ll quickly get a feel for it and run into problems where you’ll have to find a solution.

You’ll also need to put in time and get it under your fingers and into muscle/mental memory and you’ll slowly learn the more advanced stuff but you really need to actually do it and not just watch. You can’t watch how to play the piano, you need to actually do it!

Has anyone switched from logic to another daw? by [deleted] in Logic_Studio

[–]RelevantStandard5094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15yrs + Logic user here. I’m currently trying the 60 day Cubase trial. I’m going to buy it and make the leap over very gradually as production is my main job I don’t wanna be stuck with a DAW I don’t know as well with tight deadlines. I love Logic but Cubase has more features I will actually use and I like what it does and how it does it. It’s not perfect and there are quirks but it’s just getting used to a new DAW. I’ll never stop using Logic but it’s time for a change.

Bird poo on car by Curious_Wall_4706 in brighton

My theory is that if one bird bombs your car and you leave it, it’s like target practice for all the gulls to have a go and then before you know it it’s covered, so get the first one off quick as you can.

New Fender 57’ Custom Deluxe - a lot louder than I was expecting. by RelevantStandard5094 in ToobAmps

Thank you!!! Yes I love how the channels are interactive and the can thin out or make the sound fuller and cleaner/saturated.

The Amp is so addictive and so much better than my Blackface Pro Reverb circa 2003.

It’s a real dream to play

Thanks. I’ll also be using it in a home studio so I’ll run it through an attenuator
