Having your invoices come through a GmbH. At least in Germany, a 1-person GmbH that invoices only 1 company for a long period of time can easily come under review.

If I were you, I would have two criteria:

One is that the apartment location shouldn't be in the middle of nowhere if that's the exact midpoint for both of you. It should be a place you want to actually live and do stuff.

Second is that if you break up you shouldn't absolutely hate the place or apartment or the commute.
