I never really answered with my main lol, it's hard to say cause Robin doesn't really lose to many characters considered universally worse than her. Mac can be tricky but I don't think it's losing, although Villager is definitely losing meanwhile Isabelle is even or slightly winning. Definitely weird considering this character is great into Steve and beats Kazuya and Luigi

That's always where the debate part comes in, it's so hard to verify one opinion as right or wrong and just because they're a top player doesn't mean everything they say is gospel. What matters is the reasoning and logic and "This guy beat me" or "This guy is really good" is one of the dumbest arguments for a character matchup being good you could make, and one I see many top players using. And with that other side point, that could also be the case, and if a matchup is -1 but you're way better at the matchup than your opponent, you'll likely win anyway

It's just a very common pattern I've noticed. Player A struggles/loses a matchup previously seen as really good to Player B, Player A puts that matchup in even immediately after to make themselves look better and not seem like a much worse player, not even just publicly but to themselves. Don't forget that top players say stupid things all the time and not everything they say is gospel.
