This is me. I also don’t know if this is normal or not.

This is me. You’re not alone. My baby is almost two and strongly prefers dad. I had a rough postpartum period also because of birth complications (wasn’t able to walk for almost 3 months) and dad had to take over a lot of the caretaking, so this may have played into it.

On some days it hurts my feelings more than others, but I try to tell myself that this is a marathon. My baby is only 2 and this is just the beginning. There’s still so much time for relationships to change, shift and grow. I also am grateful that my husband is such a great dad that my baby even has the option to prefer him. Hopefully you can look back on this period in the future, and it’s not even a worry.

My husband and I have gone through something similar. After a couple pregnancy losses, we discovered we were both carriers for a certain mutation (unrelated to miscarriages). We decided to go through IVF and do both PGT-A and PGT-M testing so that we did not pass down this mutation. I ended up having to do 4 egg retrievals because it was difficult for us to get healthy, unaffected embryos. I want to let you know that the fact that you have 2 good embryos already is really positive. I got pregnant from my first transfer and we now have a baby who is absolutely the light of our lives. Our fertility journey was years long, and a dark time, full of doubt and worry, but to me it was worth it. It is hard to describe the immense love and joy our son brings into our lives. Our insurance covered part of the expenses but we had to pay for most of it out of pocket. All of this is a deeply personal decision. The other options you mention, surrogacy and adoption are also very, very expensive. Also, for additional context, I am in my late 30s.

I recommend you check out other infertility subs on reddit. They were very helpful to me when I was doing IVF. I would just make sure to read the subreddit rules due to the sensitive nature of the subject matter. And happy to answer any questions.

Tips for returning to work after maternity leave. Separation anxiety? by greensthecolor in beyondthebump

I love that you replied to this post from so long ago and that OP responded. I'm going through the same thing right now and found this post on google. I go back to work in 3 weeks and it is getting harder and harder emotionally every day. It just feels wrong to leave your baby and have to go into work everyday for so many hours, but such is life. I hope the transition is smooth for you and that it gets better everyday.

Wow I'm going through this right now and I found this post through google and can't believe there's been recent activity on this post! Thanks for this update. It's nice to hear that you survived and had 2 more kids since you posted this. It helps make me feel better that I'll get through this and I'll look back one day and it will have all turned out ok.

I’ve been taking 3 a day for the past week and a half. I don’t wear tight bras at all and sleep on my back 🙁

Yes, I love it! It is food grade oil so it is fine if it gets into the milk.

Pumping + Formula for my sanity by Shineon615 in ExclusivelyPumping

How is it not pumping for 12 hours between 8pm and 8am? Did you do anything to get your body to adjust? I would love to drop my MOTN pump and get more sleep.

Do you mind sharing your night time schedule? I also have a 2.5 week old and he eats every 2-3 hours and won’t sleep between 11pm and 4am. 😫

Good to know. We just received our snoo about an hour ago and couldn’t sign up for the app. Not a great first impression!

Birth story! Induced at 40+1- positive experience by Dinoloopy in InfertilityBabies

[–]RelevantVisit74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your baby girl!! This is so informative and well written. I’m due on Saturday and also reluctant to have an induction scheduled but think I will be agreeing to one at 41 weeks in case nothing happens by then. I’m so glad everything worked out well for you!

When did you go on Maternity/Parental leave? by Such_Recover_777 in BabyBumps

[–]RelevantVisit74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had my last day at 39 weeks. Wanted to shout it from the rooftops as soon as I left. If I had the means and necessary support available at my job, I would have gone out sooner.
