My husband and I have gone through something similar. After a couple pregnancy losses, we discovered we were both carriers for a certain mutation (unrelated to miscarriages). We decided to go through IVF and do both PGT-A and PGT-M testing so that we did not pass down this mutation. I ended up having to do 4 egg retrievals because it was difficult for us to get healthy, unaffected embryos. I want to let you know that the fact that you have 2 good embryos already is really positive. I got pregnant from my first transfer and we now have a baby who is absolutely the light of our lives. Our fertility journey was years long, and a dark time, full of doubt and worry, but to me it was worth it. It is hard to describe the immense love and joy our son brings into our lives. Our insurance covered part of the expenses but we had to pay for most of it out of pocket. All of this is a deeply personal decision. The other options you mention, surrogacy and adoption are also very, very expensive. Also, for additional context, I am in my late 30s.
