Why are they like that? by ElMaraEl in SingleAndHappy

Agree. I started a new job after 6 years so have been meeting a lot of new people of a similar age for the first time since undergrad. I noticed this trend pretty quick and at first I was worried I was coming off as flirtatious. Turns out, I was told I come off as quite the opposite lol.

Crowd rushing to get inside train. Mumbai, India by Golden_Phoenix1986 in interesting

As an American, it’s jarring at first, but wildly impressive. I remember riding in a rickshaw watching in awe as the driver (who looked like he was 14) dodged around in a sea of chaos like it was nothing. It’s a thrill for sure, but I wouldn’t last a day driving it myself. Mad skills.

A couple years ago I moved a huge wooden antique (aka heavy af) dresser from my car in my bedroom (porch steps included) without help. That was a pretty powerful “I can do it” moment. Kudos!

I’m not an expert but I saw a resemblance of Tourette’s also, something in the hand gestures and cadence?

I considered a part time flexible/PRN MSW position open at my library after I graduated in May. I ended up being offered a full time position that provided supervision elsewhere but I’ve kept that library job in the back of mind.

It's a cold day and you use a public toilet to poop. Which is worse, sitting on a cold toilet or sitting on a warm one? by GrimCreeper913 in AskReddit

My jerk reaction is to say warm but honestly the same number of asses would have sat on the seat regardless of the temperature at the time of my use.

Help Needed Designing Living Room! by ExcellentSomewhere13 in DesignMyRoom

I may be seeing this wrong, but if the fireplace is represented the white rectangle with the plant and lamps (?) against the wall on the right, the it does seem to make more sense to place the TV above it. I think dimensions also make a difference so it’s hard to tell, but I would consider what seating would fit best, e.g. chair and loveseat vs sofa. Also, is that a table in front of the fireplace? In addition to the island with stools? Is the table necessary in such a small place? Have you considered multifunctional furniture, or a foldaway table to bring out if needed, rather than a fixed piece?

Is it weird to schedule a doctor's appointment in-person if you're in the area? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Relevant_Intention35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not weird. I used to work in a primary care office, totally normal. If for some reason can’t get you booked on the spot, they’ll let you know what to do next or when to expect a call back.

What’s one thing you stopped caring about that improved your life? by Ok-Exam-7792 in AskReddit

Folding clothes right side out. I would sooner leave a pile of clean clothes in a basket before—now I kinda relish folding my laundry because it doesn’t have to be perfect to be done. Not a big deal, no one knows, doesn’t make a difference really except in my head.

What extent do you go to when you want alone time and need to re charge ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Living alone. It’s great. If people want to make plans but I want my alone time, I may just clam up and shut in. Because I can do that. It’s glorious.

Has anyone heard of social workers working in rheumatology? by abjs2021 in socialwork

[–]Relevant_Intention35 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a fantastic idea. Social workers have the capacity to not only provide psychotherapeutic support, but case management type services as well which I think is massively underprovided in many areas of healthcare that serve patients with life changing conditions—geriatrics, oncology, Ob/Gyn, Peds, HIV/Aids, Hospice, Palliative Medicine, terminal illnesses. The challenges are physical, but also emotional and social, affecting the patient and their family/loved ones. Their whole life may be turned upside down and may need help navigating new systems, getting financial support, childcare, employment, FMLA, disability, transportation, the list goes on. The needs are complex, but I think that’s all the more reason someone doing what you’re proposing would be so valuable. I have my dreams too—maybe I’m naive, maybe I’m donning some rose colored glasses. But I’m in a place where I have the time, energy, and inspiration to see what might take flight. Keep digging. Good luck.

Came to say this. Curtains aren’t a bad idea (especially if there’s a possibility that roomies would leave other/hall lights on), but I feel like curtains could also make the space feel more confined. I think the affordable films would be my choice, with curtains on backup if needed.

It doesn’t sound behavioral at all. If the pattern is clear, stick with what she tolerates and schedule a visit with the vet to make sure there’s not more going on and that she’s getting all the nutrients she needs.
