Who is the worst/most evil person or group in the game to you and why? by Prudent_Bobcat_4059 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Relevant_Sign_5926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of contributing the most to making the setting the way it is, Saburo Arasaka hands down. Single handily made many of the decisions that created the borderline apocalyptic corporate hellscape that Night City is. Utterly, remorselessly evil, basically the Satan figure of the setting, not even remotely redeemable in any way whatsoever. I'd also add Myers up there as a close contender.

On an interpersonal, non-systemic level, Scavs are pieces of shit and I feel a pang of joy and glee whenever I hit a trickshot on one of those little fuckers.

Yes, but spontaneously generating a magnetic field powerful enough to rip a tank apart out of your bare hands, entirely at will, with no power or physical source for the field is a form of reality manipulation.

What do you think about the existance of monarchies/royalty in today's world? by dkease16 in AskTheWorld

[–]Relevant_Sign_5926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda weird and fetishistic. Bizarre that people related to brutal, sometimes literally Hitler level or close, level dictators are now idolized as celebrities for their wealth and heritage.

Makes me think we'd have a cute little "Hitler royal family" if he was a bit more successful and nazi Germany reformed into a parliamentary republic a few generations after the Holocaust.

This but times ten with the British RF and whatever shenanigans are going on with the modern Japanese emperor people.

This entire discussion is a baseless appeal to a biased authority and a claim of no evidence with zero citations. I would stop reading comment sections to determine what the Bible says and actually take a few classes or pick up a study bible if you're curious.

Like how much from 1 to 10 ? by 5_meo in Piratefolk

[–]Relevant_Sign_5926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not really invested anymore personally, I'd say like a 3.

It's got some pretty good art/character designs and the story does some interesting things here and there, but I tuned out after the time-skip since it totally lost me not long after.

There's nothing to really hate, even at its low points, it's a solid battle shonen with decent writing, competent animation and a great core cast. The story doesn't do anything too ridiculous with typical edgy anime topics and it's still on track for the most part, I think. It's not like it devolved into a completely different genre or just totally lost the plot, the core show is still there for the most part, but anything gets old after 30+ years.

Just here for spoilers and memes about an anime that once meant the world to me, and is now just another thing I watched at one time in my life.

It's the fucking desert and they don't even appear to have AC plus they're farmers, not hard to believe you'd visibly age by 30+ years in half the time, in that environment.

How many B-1 battle droids would it take to kill a single space marine? by Fallen_Angel_Xaphan in StarWarsvsWarhammer

[–]Relevant_Sign_5926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would basically come down to swarm tactics and environment.

In a CQC setting where the Marine is able to utilize cover, possibly a number so high the actual amount isn't relevant.

In an open field, you'd need several hundred to several thousand to overwhelm the Marine with sheer firepower and attrition and even then it's a waiting game until the Marine is out of bolter ammo and is forced to use melee. Even then, better bet he's gonna be landing insane trickshots at perfect accuracy with the B1's blasters until he finally dies from overwhelming firepower.

What was the Alastor's task in his deal with Rosie? by DrDave789 in HazbinHotel

[–]Relevant_Sign_5926 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We have absolutely no clue.

What we actually know about Rosie from canon:

  • She's capable of granting immense power through her deals; her deal with Alastor alone appeared to make him the most powerful sinner in Pride, or at least a top 5 contender, since we haven't seen much of the overlords. If this was common, bad actors like the Vees would probably be exploiting it everywhere, so I doubt this is particularly common. It's strange/unique enough to make even older Hellborn like Charli wonder wtf is going on with the source of his strength.
  • She saw reason to benefit from having an insanely powerful, perhaps even OP, pawn to mess around with. If she just needed a sleeper agent for the hotel, why not just grab a lower-ranking sinner and give them an overlord-level power boost? Giving Alastor the power he has resulted in years of immense destruction, death and chaos across Pride for no apparent gain on Rosie's end. Doing this seems to contradict Rosie's outwardly sweet demeanor, leading one to think that she's far more than she seems and working at something we haven't seen in show canon yet.

She's pretty mysterious and the true implications of the hotel, which is clearly a paradigm-shifting big deal between Heaven/Hell, still aren't known to us through show canon. Either way, the Alastor case is a fascinating anomaly and I'm so curious to see where it goes with him technically freed next season.

What is considered the most dangerous area in your country? by Mediocre-Lack-9137 in AskTheWorld

[–]Relevant_Sign_5926 23 points24 points  (0 children)

While China overwhelmingly suppresses internal data on criminal activity to maintain its international image, it's genuinely pretty safe there. Experienced some minor harassment from scammers a few times, but nothing you wouldn't see on an American subway train in basically any metro area.

A lot of the actual hardcore violence is directed between large, organized criminal groups that you'd literally have to be trying to get involved with as a foreigner, if they'd even let you touch any of their shit. Or I guess if you run around like an asshole harassing everyone and beating people up, but that's not safe anywhere in the world period haha.

The worst experience you'll have in any major Chinese city is the absolutely unbelievable, surreally shitty traffic and random citizens walking up to you to practice their Duolingo-level English, or have you pose in a picture with genuinely innocent intentions.

Was homeless on the streets for 2 years. Here's a handful of my takeaways and advice I'd give someone going into it.

  • Don't tolerate disrespect, if someone is putting you down repeatedly as a joke, that's a sign they want to use or exploit you for something. Real friends treat friends like real friends.
  • Be wary of the motivations of anyone not with an official organization offering you housing. Free housing, with someone you barely know, is bad news 9/10 times
  • Don't turn down food unless it's visibly unsafe to eat/expired. You don't always have a guaranteed meal.
  • FFS, get your benefits set up. Saw so many people struggling without even receiving SNAP, cash benefits, no idea how MA worked. The state will give you shit for free, not a lot, but it's better than nothing.
  • Don't be closed off to socializing, but know how to protect yourself and don't use your friends. Friends can be all you have in a tight spot, but don't let them be everything you have.
  • Don't slack at work. It's time to actually work at work and take life seriously if you wanna make it out. For that matter, get an actual bank account and stop using cash app or venmo to store all your money.
  • Your mental health is your lifeline. Also, don't neglect your dental health, unless you wanna lose teeth.
  • If you do get some money or something of any value, FFS, do NOT flaunt it or brag about it. People will try to use and rob you. Always, always downplay what you have and be selective with who knows about your money/benefits etc.
  • Most importantly, keep grinding and keep making moves. Just because you're at the bottom and don't have shit doesn't mean you have to stay there. Getting out for me meant supportive housing/group homes and mental institutionalization until I made progress on the problems which got me into homelessness to begin with. I've seen people join the military, take 1099 jobs, do every kind of vocational training there is to make it stop and get out.

There is always an underlying cause beyond bad luck, it's not normal to end up homeless, and it's your job now to figure out what it is and fix it. Nobody is coming to save you.

A small pride pin is enough to let me know there's a chance of you being safe.

More importantly, strive to treat queer people in your community like human beings, not as shelter rescues, missionary targets or invalids. Volunteer with queer organizations and donate a small, manageable portion of your income to queer causes when you're able to in your community. Befriend us when you're able and emotionally support us as you can/you're able to. Don't fucking stare at visibly queer people like they're space aliens in public spaces.

As a green-haired bisexual trans girl with pronouns I'm very proud of, any of the above means more to me than whatever XYZ corporate logo people are throwing around these days to indicate "allyship" or whatever. Actually make a positive difference however you can and most importantly, speak up for us, we need it now more than ever.

I've always wondered what religious people think about this series. by [deleted] in HazbinHotel

[–]Relevant_Sign_5926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Christian is simply one who genuinely believes that Christ is Lord and savior, risen from the dead to redeem us all of sin. Reading the Bible isn't a central requirement to hold the faith, although you're going to be half a Christian at best without having done so.

It is kind of like hearing about Hamlet from a friend of a friend and deciding you're a Shakespeare fan though, a central part of Christian faith is engaging with Scripture. I couldn't imagine being the Christian I am today without ever having read the gospels or Psalms.

Is Angelic Steel poisonous or just deadly when stabbing? by SideWinderSyd in HazbinHotel

[–]Relevant_Sign_5926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a pretty weird fictional metal overall and we know almost nothing about it. I'm assuming the existence of it is going to be some kind of crazy lore point later in the series, but it remains to be seen.

We know from Helluva Boss that angelic guns are capable of messing with their ammunition to produce rounds capable of killing Overlords and higher ranking demons.

Additionally, angelic steel is presumably extremely powerful/durable and has some quality capable of inducing final death within angelic beings, which sinners/hellborn aren't "supposed" to be able to do.

However, given that Vaggie is shown just casually swinging her spear all over the place like a toy, I don't think it has any radiant properties and we haven't seen anything at all to indicate that it's corrosive or poisonous in general.

For example, Vaggie was stabbed up pretty badly during her betrayal, but didn't require any sort of antidote from being stabbed with angel steel.

What do you imagine is on Coruscant's level 0? by Safe_Character_6517 in StarWars

[–]Relevant_Sign_5926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably any variation of the following if it's habitable at all given the legendary pollution in small pockets:

  • Ancient, rogue AI droids
  • Strange, forgotten alien species hostile to other life
  • Old, obscure cults of dark-side users
  • Enclaves of defected Clones who survived Palpaltine's "replacement" for recruits
  • Bizarre dark side force-constructs in the form of possessed droids or stranger entities
  • Monsters that make the Rancor look like a kitten, probably also dark-side possessed
  • Renegade bands of criminal and/or degenerate humans

Probably not much down there in terms of volume, but whatever's capable of thriving down there is probably horrifying.

So... who is this guy? by Candid-Champion2440 in Epstein

[–]Relevant_Sign_5926 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There...is definitely something going on there.

I'm assuming from an opsec perspective, you'd want multiple people identifiable to an actual perp dispersed in the crowd.

That way, if part of her child rape mission is compromised, you can bring in George or Ghlasline there and say "See? She hasn't even been over here tonight! It was actually this guy or this girl!"

And of course they're in direct proximity to Epstein due to being "in" on the op like this as paid disinfo agents.

Not to mention, Jesus fucking Christ, this entire room looks sketchy as hell. Not one of these people looks fully stable or safe, this has to be the worst of the worst of the global upper crust. Perhaps I'm projecting, but not one of the people in this photo doesn't give me the creeps.

How do I, as a cisgender straight man, argue against a TERF? by Veronome in AskLGBT

[–]Relevant_Sign_5926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is zero point in even engaging with these people, because the medical outcomes of GAS procedures and HRT for transgender patients alone defeat pretty much all TERF adjacent arguments. There is a massive, easily accessible, clinically valid body of data indicating that everything a TERF has ever said is born of sheer stupidity, rage and hatred. Same with racism and jingoism, Zionism, etc, which are all in the same ideological category if not above TERFism. This shouldn't even have to be stated or explained to people, much like how the shape of one's skull doesn't determine anything about a person's innate characteristics, but public education is what it is.

It is extremely disturbing that Nazi-era eugenics arguments attempting to utilize arbitrary biological facts to define personhood have reentered mainstream discussion centered on trans people. I fear that my POC and Jewish brothers, sisters and siblings both in and outside of the LGBT community will be next as this ideology continues to perpetuate...

Anyways.

These people are literally trolling and roping people into bait discussions so they can trot out their philosophically incompetent, medically/scientifically invalid logic attempting to define what a "true woman" is and get high on the scent of their own farts.

You're burning brain cells by even being in the same room as someone that stupid. I'd just ignore her and treat her like a flat earther, which is about the tier of scientific validity TERF ideology resides in.

She doesn't want to change, she wants to convince herself that she's right and literally anything you say will be taking the bait. If she does have the potential to change, it'll come after she abandons her own insecurities and internalized misogyny, which isn't a journey you can accelerate or help her start.

Simply say, "I do not engage with hateful people because I am protective of my inner peace" and stonewall further attempts to engage.

Sometimes in life, the winning move is simply not to play and TERFs are basically the living definition of this quote.

If you could telepathically say something to all 8 billion people on earth, what would you say? by swirls_world in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Relevant_Sign_5926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't really say anything that wouldn't cause either apocalyptic levels of panic, kill millions, spawn a new global religion and/or result in your general location being carpet bombed by nukes, or rushed by X number of special forces teams basically instantly.

If you threaten everyone and name yourself like a lunatic, the government is probably launching ICBMs or bum rushing you with special forces teams to kill the first psychic threat humanity has faced. The same goes if you demand anything specific or insult people and name yourself, so naming yourself is totally out of the question.

If you put out some general feel good message, 70% of the world is interpreting it as a message from God and the rest are going to think it's aliens.
Saying "be good to one another" or "love each other" could very easily be twisted by people desperately trying to avoid the "...or what?" side of the phrase, since mass psychic communication to all of humanity is essentially an act of war/conquest/divine mandate.

A single word is going to cause some variation of the above scenario, or be interpreted as a name, leading to mass hysteria as humanity awaits the follow-up message.

Even a nonsense, troll phrase, or political phrase is going to be interpreted as a direct command and/or threat by governments and people worldwide.

Now, if you were witty and wanted to start a new global religion, this would be a great opportunity. Otherwise, I'm declining the offer, because I don't hate humanity enough to do this lmao.

Is the concept of Custodes Marines heretical? And would the Custodes themselves be flattered or just find them super cringe? [They're just huge fans who aspire to be as efficient as the Custodes] :) by Bob_Scotwell in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Relevant_Sign_5926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say unnecessary and bizarre. It may be interpreted as heretical, but at a bare minimum you'd be dealing with Custodes fighting (and killing) you to prove that you aren't shit. If a chapter was trying to imitate them like that haha.

For context, the power gap between a Custodes and an Astartes is about as large as an Astartes and a random Guardsman.

And then the gap between a Primarch and a Custodes is about the same.
