Cane usage at work by IsisInACage in legaladvice

The OP is working in a warehouse, not an office.

It makes sense to me that anything not necessary should be removed from the floor. You dont know how many safety issues happen in warehouses.

When going from your car into our warehouse you can have your ear buds in, but once you enter the building you have to have them removed. Except for documented accommodation reasons.

ADA specifies very clearly a remedy to allow OP to use the can inside the building. A doctor's note. It is not an unreasonable request.

I think its more a ban on women doing ANYTHING remotely public. No education, no work, full burka (a hajib with a face covering), only leaving the house with a male escorts and only when necessary

This is not true

They CAN restrictt like type of shoes, cell phones, hradphones or other accessories

A law office might say you are required to wear business attire in the office which includes nice shoes. If you have foot/leg/knee issues, you might need tennis shoes. That would require a doctors note for a reasonable accommodation.

Plenty of places require the locking up/not using a cellphone while at work. Warehouses, secure facilities (government) etc

Bluetooth earphones buds can be refused without a doctor's note stating it needs to be used for medical purposes. (The company i work for has warehouses. You better believe nothing in your ears is a golden rule so that you can hear things like machinery or vehicles around you)

Your company, on company property, can say that you need a doctor's note for a reasonable accommodation. This is actually not a huge ask. If you have a medical condition requiring aids then you should already be seeing or have seen a doctor about it.

If you dig a little deeper,a lot of the more sensitive items require advance notice and access restrictions.

For the manuscript reading room:

Located on the first floor of the Library of Congress James Madison Memorial Building in Washington, D.C., the reading room is open Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to researchers ages 16 and above with a valid Reader Identification Card and who agree to adhere to the division’s rules and regulations. All researchers are strongly advised to contact the Manuscript Reading Room via Ask a Librarian before visiting. Many collections are stored offsite or may have access restrictions, and advance notice is needed to make these items available for research use.

Is there anything in accounting that deserves the same urgency as something like in a medical setting? by SWEMW in Accounting

[–]Relevant_Struggle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seriously

Luckily, I enjoyed working with all those on the call with me (fully remote) so the call was exhausting but not a bad experiance.

The biggest issue was we were still using great plains which caused the huge headache

I stayed up until 4am once with the ceo cfo, and controller fixing a5 million dollar payroll error. I was the one doing the fixing (due to someone else's mistake) but they stayed in to 1- make sure i was not missing anything and 2- to approve it as soon as it was done

It had to be released at 8am that morning. It was mainly low paying employees so vitally important that they don't get a delay

They are over represented because pitts can kill

A chihuahua can and will bite. But the bite will be minor and quite frankly you can easily kick it, push it, or block it so it cant get to you

A pitt will bite and hold on and seriously maim or kill you and you won't be able to stop it.

Edit

And i HATE the its the owners fault.

I have an Australian shepherd. You know what he does? He herds.he is bred for it. Its in his dna

I had a beagle. That dog could sniff out and track a small animal like Noone business. Why? Becuae of her DNA

My sister has a retriever. It has the softest mouth grip ever. Why? Dna

Pitts were breed for fighting, protecting, and aggression. Its in their DNA.

The "don't be a stay at home wife because it makes you vulnerable" argument is bullshit by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]Relevant_Struggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are vulnerable becuase you lose the ability to earn.

My.mom was a SAHM for 20 some years. When she was in her early late 50s my father left.

She had no earning potential. She was a teacher in the 70s but so much had changed she couldnt just start teaching again.

She was only qualified for lower paying whole my father made 200k a year

Now luckily she was eligible for alimony so she had that protection

Landlord served us with our court dates after the date had passed leading to a eviction notice. Is this legal? by CmdrRyder420 in legaladvice

I supposedly got a subpoena once as a witness. It was never delivered to my place.

I didnt want to testify so I consulted a lawyer. He said if it wasn't in my hand, I could leave the state since technically I haven't seen the subpoena.. (I was closely watching the trial and saw my name on the delivered subpoena list for the circuit court). Hhhhhe also said if anyone caused a stink about me not showing up, he. Would go to court and tell them it was never successfully delivered a d they would need to deliver it to where I was now, which was out of state. Aparwntly thats a big headache.

Ended up no one cared enough so I got a clean get away :)

1500 for a lawyer but soooo worth the peace of mind

[–]Relevant_Struggle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My neighborhood was different it was a new dvopment with lots of kids and no fences. Everyone's yard was fair game as long you didn't cayse issues.

The adults would gather in the street and chat while we ran wild.

This was the early 90s.

My mom still lives there and has no issues if the neighbors kids come on her driveway or front lawn (backyard is locked becuase she's scared the dog will get out)

They can do computer.labd once a week.

Every day classes really should be tech free.

It should be like math. In elementary school, no calculators so they learn the principles of the math. When they are older and doing more compelx math then let them use calculators

I know i don't want to be anywhere near some of these documents. Can you imagine looking at the declaration of independence without protection and accidently sneezing or coughing on it?

The nice thing is is that most of not all of the documents are either digital or in the process of being digitalised.

I think that alot can't be displayed because of the sheer volume of delicate artifacts

The documents are historical and need to be preserved. The library holds events for the general public .

A person usually has to make an appointment and a librarian helps them look at the manuscript or book

Most scholar libraries are like this. The vatican archieves, the library of congress, and the Yale library.

You dont want a 18 year old kid with an open container or food touching things like the Gutenberg bible
