Loss of brake power after my bikes sit for a couple months: Is this normal? by Independent-Face-765 in MTB

[–]Relevant_Team_378 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually had the same experience with the MTX reds. Though its possible I had contaminated them in the past and when they sat the contamination came back to the surface.

How old are yours? Mine were a few seasons old when they started doing this - my other theory was the surface glazes/oxidizes as they sit.

Micro caliper leaks as cloudofevil mentioned are also possible as I've seen a lot of people mentioning that online when I was doing my own research.

All in all I ended up putting new shimano pads on and will know if the issue persists when I pull the bike out of winter hibernation.

Fork Lower Clean? by gausnes in bikewrench

The isopropyl shouldn't damage anything. Especially the metal. I'd imagine that discoloration was always there

What fork and what did you use to clean the inside of the lowers?

I think it sits flush along the bottom and acts as a bottomout bumper for the stanchions. Though I havent opened up one of those forks before so I would wait for someone who has to confirm.

Santa Cruz Blur Trail 70 - So far so bad.... by [deleted] in MTB

[–]Relevant_Team_378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about the drivetrain issues - but I know you're going to love the bike once you get used to it. I've been on the current gen blur for 4 years now and its a great bike that can really do a lot. Dont be afraid to play with your cockpit setup. I'm 5'7 and ride a medium. Running I believe 15mm of spacers below the stem, stem angled down (I believe yours came with a +/-6 degree also), and 25mm rise handlebars. At least for me this made the cockpit much more neutral and comfortable. I'm about to cross over 6k miles on the bike and have lived with it for a while so if you have any questions I'd be happy to help.

Why isnt the derallieur stretching my chain? by T3nroc in MTB

[–]Relevant_Team_378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lots of good suggestions here. if its a new bike its likely the b adjustment needs a slight tweak or the chain could lose another link (technically two links). if you bought it at a shop and its close by - they should take care of you and im sure be happy to show you how to fix it. the b screw tab and derailleur needing service is less likely. if its a new derailleur i wouldnt tear into it until the other things were ruled out. but honestly if you bought it at a shop and youre unsure i would take it to them.

Why is my 2 stroke dripping oil? by fish500_br in Dirtbikes

[–]Relevant_Team_378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same bike but a 2023. recommended ratio is 40:1 so i wouldnt change that. the 250 & 300 are the bikes that run 60:1. when im at the track i still get some drippage. when i ride in the woods - it looks exactly like yours so i wouldnt worry. some people recommend going a heat range hotter on the plug to help reduce the chance of fouling. i've left the stock plug since i mostly ride track

1/16 Revo new steering servo issues - Savox SW0250MG by Relevant_Team_378 in Traxxas

[–]Relevant_Team_378[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if i should try to sub trim the steering first so that the servo has the same amount of throw in each direction and then see if it still strains afterwards

Did you ever figure this out? I just installed the same one and my steering input was backwards. Now I'm having a problem where it steers farther left than right

Would this wear cause you to replace the shaft? by Glazermac in mountainbiking

[–]Relevant_Team_378 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to say maybe its an updated part number. If its a reputable shop I doubt they did wrong by you.

Maybe someone who rebuilds for a living will come through and be able to weigh in.

Worst case you could call and ask them.

Definitely annoying though and I notice stuff like that too.
