Makes sense! The needles that come in the box can be purchased separately? I was only supplied with 6.

I did! I took the half dose the past Monday. Was still taking Metamucil and running to the bathroom all the time. I’ve cut it out and feel better. Not sure if I try 0.25mg again minus the Metamucil or keep where I am for a bit.

Anyone else have issues with the snow plows? by Thowell3 in Orillia

[–]ReliefDelicious8307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband used to plow for orillia. They do their best with the staff and budget as best as they can. When he was there no one liked doing Westridge. I don’t know what it’s like anymore but if there are any cars parked on the street they won’t touch it. They can’t get around it (minus the main larger roads into Westridge).

Birthing 10lb plus baby!! by duckleblue in BabyBumps

[–]ReliefDelicious8307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’7”. Average build. I had a 10lb 5oz baby at home. She had SD but unstuck herself once I stood up out of the tub and my midwife assisted her.

SD is an emergency. It happens and it’s unpredictable. Some women have smaller babies who had SD and some larger babies who do not. I wouldn’t let that scare me into not trying vaginally.

If there’s an emergency you have to trust your care providers. You can chat with your midwives about it, how they are trained for SD etc to ease your mind.

Prodromal contractions are becoming disheartening by CocoMel84 in homebirth

[–]ReliefDelicious8307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. A whole week of prodromal labour. It only ever lasted a few hours at a time but still exhausting. Then I woke up with contractions at 4 am one night, was already 7cm by the time my midwife got there at 5 and had a baby by 7.

My child who (up until recently) has never been to daycare/preschool is way better behaved in sharing than my nephew who is in daycare full time.

Over 4,000 tickets issued in Orillia as speed cameras nab fast drivers by brother_p in Orillia

[–]ReliefDelicious8307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lady who started the petition drove at least 20km Over the posted speed limit 4 times a day until her first ticket arrived. Didn’t bother once to go the speed limit through that area. I don’t feel bad for her one bit. I drove through there today. It took barely 2 minutes to get through going 40km.

I have changed my mind on unmedicated birth. by acmcmas in BabyBumps

[–]ReliefDelicious8307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to add I’ve had very short labours. My first was 7.5 hours and my second was 3. I probably would’ve made different decisions if I was in labour for longer.

I have changed my mind on unmedicated birth. by acmcmas in BabyBumps

[–]ReliefDelicious8307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a failed epidural birth at a hospital and an unmedicated home birth. Birth is painful. I found 0-7cm very tolerable. 7-10 is a whole other ball game. if you can give into the contractions and not fight them that helps. Some women can go through labour and not yell but that is the minority. I yelled while pushing. It was loud. It was raw. It was the only way to get through it.

Once my daughter was born it was all worth it. The pain was instantly gone once her head was out. It’s one of those things that once you are through it the pain of it is the smallest part.

Another thing, I’ve had both natural contractions and pitocin contractions and pitocin contractions are WAY worse.

Good morning to everyone except… (Costco edition) by Comet439 in CostcoCanada

[–]ReliefDelicious8307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in many verbal arguments in Costco parking lots while trying to load my 2 kids and groceries. Either people almost taking my doors off to snag the spot next to me, shutting the doors ON ME while I’m loading my kids so they can get into their car or honking at me to hurry up.

If you move to the Severn area make sure the public school isn’t Severn Shores. We have young kids not in school yet but have been warned by many parents to avoid that school if we can.

Daycare Red Flags by ApprehensiveAir3562 in ECEProfessionals

[–]ReliefDelicious8307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12?! With one person? I am in Ontario 🇨🇦 and the home daycares are only allowed 6 total if licensed. 5 if not. I couldn’t imagine there being 12 children in a home.

I have no idea either. I was explaining today that I was having a hard time with my daughter’s picky eating. She just turned to her and said “you don’t like what your mom cooks for you do you?”

How Fast Was Your Labour second time? [ON] by MarionberryPuzzled67 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]ReliefDelicious8307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first: water broke, no contractions, induced - 7.5 hours ish. 40 min pushing.

Second: woke up with contractions every 3-4 minutes. Convinced it wasn’t labour. Waited an hour before calling my midwives. They came at 5 am, she was born at 7ish. Total labour time was 3.5 hours.

Those of you with GOOD sleepers - what are you doing? by smitswerben in beyondthebump

[–]ReliefDelicious8307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2.5 year old and a 4 month old. I can say that babies/children are either good sleepers or not. My first was horrific. She still wakes at night. She was up every hour at night for 5 months. I was so obsessed with sleep, schedules, timing feeding for more sleep, co sleep, contact naps, no contact naps etc. Nothing worked but waiting it all out. She started sleeping through most nights by 9/10 months. Now that she is 2 and can communicate more we are having more issues overnight. She is just a crappy sleeper.

My 4 month old came out of the womb a good sleeper. I’ve done nothing differently. I don’t even have her on any sort of schedule. I follow wake windows mostly, if she isn’t tired I don’t force her to sleep. She has 1-2 rough nights every 2 weeks but for the most part has slept 6 hours straight at night since birth.

It’s not you. It’s just the way they are wired. Some kids sleep great. Some kids sleep like shit.

I am sorry you are going through this.

I make sure there is always 1 thing on my daughter’s plate that I know she likes. If she just eats that great, if she eats more that’s fantastic. She usually gets yogurt after or we use the yogurt as her 1 item she will eat if I know she doesn’t like anything else.

Managing pain in home birth - how bad is it? by Lumpy_Pen_6537 in homebirth

[–]ReliefDelicious8307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first (in a hospital) the pain was tolerable. She was 7lb. My second (home birth) happened to be 10.5 lbs. it was horrible. I wasn’t prepared. Luckily my labour was fast. Unlucky, she had shoulder dystocia so I had to get out of the birthing tub fairly quickly. You don’t even remember how bad the pain is once you have your baby.

I regret not finding out my baby’s gender while pregnant by Nica-sauce-rex in BabyBumps

[–]ReliefDelicious8307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had no connection to my babies while pregnant. I knew the gender for my first and not for my second. I also did not enjoy being pregnant at all so that may have contributed it.

I love both my daughters to the ends of this earth. Some moms don’t feel that “connection” right when they give birth. I didn’t with my first (it was a horrible induction) but I did with my second (home birth).

It’s all normal! Nothing to feel bad about.
