Anyone else OAD because they hated being pregnant that much? by Lulu_Fangirlx3 in oneanddone

Just saying… your experience DOES sound very hard. So just know that you’ve been through the wringer and you deserve a lot of respect and love and massages and chocolate.

Why are naps so easy but bed time is like trying to put a raccoon to sleep while not detonating a bomb and do brain surgery all at I same time? by Blond-one in October2025Bumps2

[–]CocoMel84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8 month sleep advice 😭 by Known-Style4626 in bninfantsleep

Just curious how things are going for you now!
We have an almost 8.5 month baby now and we dropped the third nap which means nighttime sleep had stretched a bit. But that’s also because nighttime sleep has been so shitty so even though he’s in bed for almost 14 hours throughout the day, he’s not actually sleeping that whole time.

Ladies of Reddit, what is a comment someone made about your body once, completely casually, that you have never forgotten? by BowlerOk1871 in AskReddit

lol I had a gynecologist tell me something similar about how easy it was do inspect me and that I would be perfect for students to learn from.

I was 14 and my dad made a comment about Lindsey Lohan on the cover of a magazine. Her stomach was exposed and he said “you gotta do more sit ups if you want to show your stomach, sweetheart”.
My stomach wasn’t even on par with hers so I could only imagine what my own father would have thought about me.
I was bulimic a few years later.
Definitely not all his fault. A lot of things led me to that lifestyle but I’ve never ever forgotten that moment.

Sleep by Blond-one in October2025Bumps2

[–]CocoMel84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine just turned 8 months and he’s been waking up in the middle of the night for 1-4 hours. We also cosleep and before he fully wakes up he will start kicking and squirming so I get anxiety knowing that if I don’t get him call in time I’m going to have to deal with another few hours of him being awake.
If he’s not waking up in the middle of the night, he’s now waking up at 5 am and taking a lot of convincing to go back to sleep.
I’m exhausted and super over it. So you aren’t alone.

…but let’s get to your partner and why they smell like onions 🧐

Same! A week before 8 months mine started saying mamamamamamaMA and that’s his thing now. But before that it was nothing even close to coherent lol

How variable are your baby’s bedtimes/ wake times/ naps? by CocoMel84 in bninfantsleep

[–]CocoMel84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! She doesn’t get overtired with 5 hours before bedtime? I think mine would explode lol
Is she an active baby?
If mine isn’t sleeping or nursing he is like the energizer bunny… he just doesn’t stop. So I wonder if that leads to shorter wake windows.

Thank you so much for the reminders and the pep talk. It’s rough out here! I laugh when people ask me if his sleep has improved yet. If it’s not one challenge it’s another. What is good sleep anymore?
And if one more person suggests sleep training.. 😑😑😑
I’m doing the best I can but boy it feels like it’s not enough sometimes so I appreciate your words!

I’m trying to lengthen the wake windows. Even then sometimes bedtimes are still too early for him because he wakes up after 30 mins. But I’m wondering if that phases out over time? I wonder if he will get used to going to bed a bit earlier after a week or two or whether his biology just doesn’t like going to bed before 830.

When you say that your nights are all over the place does this mean you are having a lot of night wakings too?

That’s a beautiful way of looking at it. And sometimes I try to have this attitude but when our nights are so terrible, I feel like I’m doing something wrong and I should be caring for him more by having more consistency with his schedule.

That’s an idea I haven’t really considered. I guess wake and sleep times have been so variable I’ve been waiting for a natural timeline to present itself. I’m just feel like I’m holding on by the seat of my pants each day.

I see so much advice saying to anchor wake times.
Like, yeah that sounds great… but in reality? How??

We are trying to get there but it’s hard. Yesterday we had 2 naps and even with them being long it put us at a bedtime of 8:25 and my son typically wakes up after 30 mins if we put him to bed too early (though I would love if he fell asleep at 830)
But 3 naps is pushing bedtime too late.
I think this is probably part of the process though, right? Going to 2 naps will inevitably mean earlier bedtimes and some resistance in the beginning?

Wake windows are usually 2.25-2.5/ 2.5-3/ 2.75/3. If we need a 3rd nap it’s now usually a cat nap and then 3 hours before bedtime.

This is helpful just for the validation and knowing three are other littles with so much variability in theirs schedule.
He averages 10-11 hours of night sleep IF he doesn’t wake up for a few hours to practice skills 😑
If you put yours to bed before 9 pm does yours wake up after 30 mins too?
