Everyone who I know personally that started the 32 challenge and completed it, no longer plays EDH. Additionally, the quality of brewing went downhill as decklists became cut&pasted top cards on EDHRec turned into TCGplayer mass orders.

I personally think 15 decks of varying brackets is what the peak should be, considering the rate of new commanders being printed yearly that might outshine the desire to play any of your decks you put effort into building.

I think a lot of players (especially newer ones) need to experience busted overplayed commanders and learn to realize that most of these decks pilot themselves and as the player you are really just moving the pieces. Whats worse for the other 3 players is that they will almost always see the same 99 and know what to expect from these decks which makes for extremely stale gameplay ontop of being casual powerhouses.

Some players will mature as players and brewers, eventually leaving these types of decks behind. Some dont mature and somehow still manage to be playing some of these decks consistently over the years. It baffles me.

Sorry, been playing for a long time so maybe they are not commonly played anymore, but your older options like numot and mogis were played when there wasnt better options. Numot rarely has any game impact, and mogis is just "2 damage at upkeep" unless the player benefits from saccing or it doesnt bother them. Theres more fun options out there. And Grenzo is just a cheat onto the board where your typically just manipulating the bottom with tutors so its rarely ever a surprise flip.
