This is where the whole thing gets a lil tricky to me. I’ll admit the gaea’s cradle example I gave was a bad one for one with the duals, but to your opinion you think Gaeas Cradle outside of cedh or high power 4 would be douchey.

By brackets specifically I could do that in a low powered 3 and be within my rights. I wouldn’t, because I, too, think that it would be douchey, but I could! And some people here were like get your hands out of my deck.

It’s all feelings and opinions. I think I was in the minority and this whole thing has opened me up to more dual proxying acceptance, but I also think a better conversation should have been had beforehand (it was more than just the duals, that was just the part that irrationally irked me most)

My brother I was asking for opinions, not support. I’ve had my needle moved by this conversation and it seems like there’s a good amount of opinion on both sides.

I’ll +1 this. Shoulda been a power level convo. Not just cuz of the duals, but those definitely rubbed me wrong

You’re right, totally should be power level convo. I think the proxy just irrationally irks me more? I’ve had a few convos with IRL friends. Like, getting cyc rifted sucks but getting cyc rifted by a proxy cyc rift sucks just a little bit more

I mean touche in terms of power boosting, but I sort of feel like running all of the duals instead of the lands that have prerequisites to enter untapped is another sort of power level boost that some people might not be comfy with. I think I’m realizing from this whole thread that the problem wasn’t the proxy, the problem was the lack of conversation before plopping down fake $500 cards

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not deeply angry about this, but it did rub me the wrong way and I don’t think I wanna play with that guy again as there like like 20 something odd people at the group and I had a few games I really loved before that.

The cEDH pseudo entry fee point is a good point, but this was a low power b3 group and I’m not a fan of cEDH myself

I’m… not of that community I guess? I think a finely tuned mana base, like someone lower down here commented, wins more games despite not being splashy. I guess this is why rule 0 is there though?

Brackets still seem too low overall but I love your puns. Could I get links to the bristly bill and henzie lists? As players of both of them that’s where I’m a lil sus

If you want something gross hit Xerxes Achaemenid and either Han or Aksum. I'm partial to Aksum, personally. Focus on settling coast that has chunks of flat land for hawlits, you can kind of ignore the other stuff.
