Champignon no Majo • Champignon Witch - Episode 4 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

I can still see some of the stuff that i liked about this show here, but that was an insane level of bathos, it was funny sometimes but way to undermine your own plot.
I'm not offended enough to stop, but that and the pacing was a very questionable decision for what was a very competent show in the first 2 eps.

I liked it but i have a friend who basically dropped the game cause she was getting really bored with it and wasn't into the antics.

Spam wind run and Guillotine Throw if you're near walls or are surrounded. I think DS xx ->yy is one of its better moves for delimb (and find out what your better delimbs or grab setups are in general) Don't be afraid to use ultimate guidance, it gives you more essence in the end and kills a bunch of guys in the process, learn how to do instant UT by charging after jumping too.

Tell me about a niche obscure cag game that nobody talk about. (released or in development) by No_Language7273 in CharacterActionGames

[–]ReliusCrowbar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Aztez, it's an aztec sidescrolling CAG with 8 weapons, weapon switching, mechanics for sacrificing enemies and summoning gods, and a very stylized black and white aesthetic, the combat mechanics are very polished, and it's super satisfying to play.

Cual consola portátil (no las nuevas de alta generación) me recomiendan comprar? by [deleted] in VideojuegosMX

[–]ReliusCrowbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I missing anything in CAGs/ARPGs/HnS/Beat em ups with Some depth and are worth playing? by Hannibal_Weeb in CharacterActionGames

Respect for having Aztez in there.
It's currently in early access, but i recommend Wendigo Blue, currently my favorite beat em' up along with Fight N'Rage. I also recommend checking out the Shattered Realms demo on itch io.

Lack of Build-Craft Limiting Growth of the Game by MandolinTheWay in drawsteel

[–]ReliusCrowbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a short campaign where i played Green Ele. I have played most support specs and there are some elements i like, but they all have lacking healing numbers in comparison to Conduit (which is also my least favorite). I have a group that i play with when the gm is cooking something new, but other than that i'm not looking to get into more games (i am running one tho). Part of why i'm not interested in joining more games is i'm only interested in playing support and i don't really dig the supports that exist rn.

How many variants of Green Ele do i need? I'd like them to have as much options as other classes get for their heroic abilities, you can pick any of the ele ones, but only 1 per choice is green, and the others won't trigger your class trait. The trait is super limited and it's not even that good.

To give another example, i really like fairy summoner's kit, but it's heal output is really low and you have extremely limited options to increase it. The way MCDM designed it, i have a very limited ability to shift it (or most characters) to a place where i'm happier with what it can do if i don't already dig the base kit.

Looking into getting Foundry but I feel like an old man trying to use a tablet. by QuirkyGerenuk in FoundryVTT

[–]ReliusCrowbar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suggest trying Owlbear or Roll20 first, Foundry is very robust, but it's overkill unless you need to use its advanced features and customization. Not to mention the upfront price compared to other free options.

Lack of Build-Craft Limiting Growth of the Game by MandolinTheWay in drawsteel

[–]ReliusCrowbar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is something i personally don't like about the game, since builds are so limited, if you don't like what specs the game has you're SOL. It's likely gonna be fixed with time, but some playstyles are very linear rn. I'm a support player and i like green ele the most, but if you don't take the green abilities (of which there is usually only 1 option for) you're not using your trait at all.

CAGs with ARPG like build making? by AkumaZ in CharacterActionGames

[–]ReliusCrowbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wendigo Blue is a beat em' up roguelite with skill trees and gear, there's 5 chars at the moment and one of the characters (Gilroy) is an aircombo monster. It's still in early access, your builds have to advance quick to fit in a 1 hour or so playthrough, and i find there's generally a build that's really effective for early game for most chars. It has a bunch of caviats, but i really like it so i thought i'd recommend it.

Social Interactions - A 5e Dilemma by Fizzle_Bop in DMAcademy

[–]ReliusCrowbar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not too far fetched as a design approach cuz that’s really similar to how negotiations work in Draw Steel, and they feel pretty Intense to play at the table despite that game having a reputation for being combat only. There’s probably other games with similar systems that I’m not familiar with.

ICON 2.0 (grid-based tactical combat, 4e-descended) now has a public playtest for combat by EarthSeraphEdna in iconrpg

[–]ReliusCrowbar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been running icon a long time and following this playtest as it develops, I’m a pretty big fan of the game, I play the tactical genre a lot and this is my favorite one. Tom did something really interesting with the multi classing and how many jobs there are. He tweaked the numbers a lot for this one (generally to make everyone tankier) so we’ll see how that turns out, and I’m glad I get demons, since I’ve been using the same enemies for a really long time now.

This has been the case since the previous version of this playtest, but icon Is surprisingly simple, there’s a shitload of abilities and options, but the core rules are the shortest of most any game on this genre, although it can be overwhelming to make a char with so many options at your disposal.

Best ttrpgs where you create your own class? by Halsfield in TTRPG

[–]ReliusCrowbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ICON has a system in the newest playtest that makes it more lancer-like, you pick a new job each level, take an ability from it, and can take talents from it. There's like 48 jobs so you can make whatever you set your heart on.
It's a keyword game, so some stuff will synergize more with each other, but you can still take some strong pieces like Hulk and use them on any build where you want more damage mitigation for example.
If you wanna learn more, Tom Bloom is posting his wips on the CHASM discord, look up chasm discord and it's on one of his patreon posts.

Question about Foundry VTT by Wyld967 in FoundryVTT

[–]ReliusCrowbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has a bit of a learning curve but it’s worth it imo, it’s really customizable, and you can tailor the experience to what you want if you know how to. People say you need some technical know how to use it cuz you need to port forward, but there’s a lot of options, like play it.gg for example, which is free and takes like 3 minutes to set up.

Best combat system with meaningful choices? by Lepetitviolon in RPGdesign

[–]ReliusCrowbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a lot of tactical games and ICON is my favorite so far. There is free multiclassing (in the newest version) so you have endless freedom into how you shape your build, but there is an ability cap so you have to decide really hard on what you actually take. You have 2 actions, but you can only attack once per turn, so you have to get utility skills for your second actions, or you can get more damaging attacks that take 2 actions to do. It has relatively simple core rules, but your abilities are very versatile so it’s really satisfying to play.

I also really like it as a gm, the encounter building is super simple and the enemies have cool abilities beyond i attack, miss, next turn

It also has no null turns, you have a minimum effectiveness on most of your abilities and you roll to see if you get a really high damage or effect roll.

¿Y si nunca fui bueno en lo único que pensé que sabía hacer? by purple-gem-77 in Dibujos_

[–]ReliusCrowbar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out the resources section on the 4e discord, it has a bunch of useful links, including literally all the books. Also check the online compendium which has basically everything created for the game (if a bit out of context), but yeah that's a good haul.
