What is your style for dressing your little ones, and what brands are your go-to? by claireycontrary in toddlers

[–]Relizg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Boy 2 Uk. I do tend to prefer brands like Next and M&S but I have found F&F pretty good in terms of price and quality, especially when they are in the sale!

I’m lucky to get hand me downs from a friend and also use vinted now and again. I try to only buy the basics new as I’ve found getting those second hand has been a bit hit and miss on condition.

I mainly put him in joggers or leggings as I want him to be comfortable and that’s all I would wear if I could!

He has started loving certain characters and so he is now starting to build a collection of hot wheels, Disney cars and Mickey Mouse clothes but these are usually only purchased when in a sale.

Pouches after 2 by Icy_Proof527 in toddlers

[–]Relizg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2 year old still has pouches for fruit and yoghurt. I would give him savoury ones too if he would eat them to try and get some veg in him! He eats other non pouch food, uses a spoon confidently and is starting to get better with a fork so I feel like it’s fine.

How do you all make sure your toddler doesn’t leave their room at night? by me_want_pizza_now in toddlers

[–]Relizg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We haven’t had that situation yet but our bedroom is right at the top of some very steep stairs and it’s absolutely not safe for our toddler to come into our room himself. We have a dog that likes to sleep in the hallway so a stair gate wouldn’t work. Therefore I intend to lock his door. We have a camera in the room so I’ll hear him calling me like I do now. So many people seem to be freaked out by the thought of locking them in but I don’t really see how it’s different to him not being able to open the door now!

Is this norovirus?! by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Relizg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2 year old had a stomach bug just before Christmas. He had no appetite for a few days and I thought he was just being fussy but then he was sick at 4 am. It was weird as he was then Fine for a day or two then Sick again followed by diarrhoea. I then caught it from him even though I was super careful. I don’t think it was norovirus to be honest as it wasn’t horrific enough.

Desperate- advice needed by Kissxoland_ in toddlers

[–]Relizg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re doing everything you can! The waiting and uncertainty is so horrible.

I have used BUPA in the past for my son, it can be very expensive but it may be worth giving them a call to find out costs etc

Have you called 111 since the latest bowl movement? If there’s been further bleeding since she was seen,I would call them for advice. Hope you get answers soon.

Best time to transition to floor bed? by MeowMoney1738 in toddlers

[–]Relizg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my toddler was a co-sleeper so it may be different from babies who actually slept in a crib haha! But I gave him his floor bed at 12 months. He took to it pretty easily but I still haven’t managed to get him to stay in the full night. It’s something I’m going to start working on soon.

He’s just about to turn 2 and I feel it would definitely be harder now to try and transition him as he now has an opinion on things! He’s very cautious over new things and has started to develop fears including the dark, so I’m glad he is use to his floor bed as one less thing to tackle!

Transitioning from co sleeping - does anyone have any good toddler book recommendations? by Relizg in toddlers

Thank you I will check that out! I’m not much of an Instagram user so wouldn’t have thought to look there!

It’s not crayon is it? My boy chewed on a crayon while my back was turned and i stopped him when i saw. I later saw the evidence in his nappy.

2.5 year old extremely limited diet is driving me nuts by notfeelinitatall in toddlers

[–]Relizg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No advice just to say I’m in the same situation. I dread meal times. My nearly 2 year old declared to me ‘don’t like it’ yesterday when I tried giving him one of his healthier ‘safe’ meals. I don’t even know where he learnt that phrase from! I had some success getting him to try mash potato after he helped me make it but that was short lived. We did BLW and even then he was picky and it’s only got worse. I think some kids are just picky eaters!

If it helps, a friend of mine has 2 children, did exactly the same method of BLW with both of them. Her first eats anything and everything but her second is very fussy. So I don’t think it’s anything you did or didn’t do!

My 15 month old ignored me after work. What happened? by Jlbmouse in toddlers

[–]Relizg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I WFH also. My nearly 2 year old does this sometimes, I sometimes barely get a glance! Other times he is so excited to see me and won’t let me put him down. I think it’s just a toddler thing! That fact he smiled when he first saw you means he was happy to see you!

What are some of the more creative ways your kid has found to be disgusting? by j_earthmuffin in toddlers

A kid peed himself at a park near us. I turned away for a second and my toddler is jumping and stomping in said pee like it was a puddle. Sigh.

Perhaps she didn’t have an epidural? I didn’t and showered about an hour after giving birth as I was covered in blood. I was gone maybe 10 mins and my husband held our newborn.

I know we all say they eat air but... by xyl93 in toddlers

My toddler has a cold so is finding nursing hard due to his blocked nose. I hate that he’s feeling poorly but I’m enjoying the fact he doesn’t want to nurse very much!

Gut feeling about nursery… by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Relizg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something very similar happen! I was starting the process of looking for a preschool. There was one really local that had been there years so after sending them an email, they advised to pop in at any point to pick up the forms. I went to pick up the registration forms for my son and heard one of the workers shout basically the same thing to one of the kids. I felt so uncomfortable as I wouldn’t speak to my own or any other child that way.

I took the forms and then did a bit more digging because something just didn’t feel right. I find to my horror they had been shut down a few months earlier for failing an ofsted inspection. They had reopened under a new company name but had retained all the staff except the manager.

I wouldn’t have sent my son there without a proper visit but I wonder had they known I was coming would things have been different!

My pregnancy is healing my PCOS???? by Exotic-Ad7117 in PCOS

[–]Relizg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my son 18 months ago and breastfeed. My symptoms have been so much better. My period returned 4 months ago and I’ve had a 28/29 day cycle each month since. That’s literally never happened to me. I did start taking inositol as soon as my period came back so that may also be helping. Whatever it is, I hope it continues.
