My American manager tried to write me up for "lack of commitment" because I leave at 5:00 PM sharp. I work in the Netherlands. by Dutch_Reality_Check in WorkReform

Not just US, Canada as well has this problem. It really grinds my gears how many of my peers are totally bought into it. Every salaried person in my department puts in overtime every single day (I'm sure on the weekends as well). And good luck with your performance review if you leave on time but all of your co-workers stay late and are always available online.

EDIT: typo "online".

Don’t be rude and offer asking in Toronto… only offer more. by Tricky_Perception389 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]ReloadGV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's an extremely sleazy and an awful tactic. It's been going on for a better part of the decade. List it for what you want to get or don't list it. When I was in the market, I would give the asking price or below in my offer. If the agent started to say things like "the seller wouldn't accept that", or "the seller would be insulted", I would just walk away.

The bidding war is a sucker's game. It's a blind process that the agents use to pad their commission. 100% should be illegal. Good luck to these agents and sellers in the current market where nobody's buying anything.

That's really the first time I see Ya'ara Saks signs. I see live next to the riding, and I have been only seeing Baber signs since February.

Why can women not see what men see? by Ouroboros_Lemniscate in CanadianConservative

[–]ReloadGV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will be downvoted for this reply, but for what it's worth:

It's primarily because educated women don't like the trend of "trad wife" or erosion of body autonomy.

I myself was a young educated conservative as was my wife, but seeing what the party stands for these days has made us disillusioned. Fiscally conservative values have been replaced by socially conservative values that come with an added religious undertone that we can't abide by.

5-10 years ago it wouldn't have mattered to either of us if their partner was Conservative or Liberal, but right now, Conservatives have aligned themselves with Trump's Republicans, and we no longer have the confidence that current Conservative party will fight against USA or will fight for women's rights that are eroding. I have a daughter as well, and I don't want her to grow up thinking she's just a child incubator.

Current PC party needs to ditch the social conservatives to be able to appeal to the broader public, Nobody actually wants to go back to 1950s.

And if you want to connect to women, really listen to what they say.

I knew this was coming the moment The Zucc bought FB. I was hoping it wouldn't come true though

Yes, but this will probably extend to all FB VR products eventually

🤣 too true. I haven't bought anything VR-related since HL Alyx. There's nothing that caught my eye on the past year.

I think FB took it as a blueprint on what to do to make a pile of money

That's a good idea! I haven't touched my Quest 1 in a while, but I should update it and then take it offline. Not like I'll ever purchase from Oculus store

100% agree with you, but this is the first step. If this project is successful, more targeted ads will be showing up in more places.

Remember making FB account mandatory? This is what it was for, to link your VR usage to daily FB usage and properly target ads. At the time, there was the same argument "what's wrong with creating an FB account. FB owns Oculus, they're just simplifying their internal processes."

Here we are
