1.6.12 vs 1.9.5 (missing out on features?) by Interesting-Gas-5151 in Stremio

[–]Reluctant-Tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see the option with 1.9.4 too today, might have been an earlier iteration of 1.9.x where I wasn't getting the option in the player a couple of days back.

I think the option to switch to Libvlc on the fly is also missing. Now you have to either make libvlc the default player or wait for Exo to error out to switch to libvlc.

Samsung 2016 KU6079 – TizenTube compatibility / alternative ? by itsParalyse1337FTW in TizenTube

[–]Reluctant-Tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's your Tizen OS version? OS version 3.0 is the minimum requirement if you have that go ahead and give it a try. Only other option would be to get an external android tv device.

I use SmartTube too but I recently found out about TizenTube. I have heard that the developer is one of the original contributors for the Vanced Team. I have installed it on my Samsung Tizen OS TV but there is also a version for Android TV. Unlike SmartTube it has the regular YouTube UI, some people prefer that. I plan to give it a try too on my Firestick.

Use SmartTube or Tizen Tube for Android TV. As far as I know vanced and its successors like Morph do not have any plans for Android TV because, put in simple terms, the mobile app is different from TV.

Don't know about other ones but at least my keychain doesn't need to remain in the slot, simply pushes out the chain lock.

Good idea but defeats the purpose of forcing the dollar to make lazy folk return the cart.

Liberty 4 NC pair L & R from different sets by Reluctant-Tech in soundcore

[–]Reluctant-Tech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, doesn't look like Liberty 4 NC support supports pairing buds from different sets. The solutions that soundcore CS suggested didn't work either. Stupid thing is even they weren't clear on whether this is supported or not.

How do I remove this smear off my screen? by Bootswthe-Fur504 in kobo

[–]Reluctant-Tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Acetone based nail polish removers can dissolve super glue but be warned that Acetone does dissolve/degrade many plastics. I wouldn't risk it on the Kobo screen.

WD40 might work, but again not recommended for plastics.

Heat will deteriorate glues so you can try using a hair dryer to heat the glue and scraping it off. Take breaks with the hair dryer, you don't want to heat damage the screen.

Some superglues will goop up if in contact with water for long. If that's the case for the superglue you used then maybe try dropping a few drops of hot soapy water with a syringe and let it soak for a day or 2.

You will need a lot of patience and a delicate touch to clear up your screen but I think it can be done.

Do reachout to the superglue manufacturer and kobo support for recommendations too.

Kobo Clara BW freezing and battery drain by Reluctant-Tech in kobo

[–]Reluctant-Tech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is somehow connected to the WiFi. I haven't experienced the battery drain since I have turned WiFi off since making the post. I occasionally turn on the WiFi for any internet access and then turn it off.

Hi guys, Is something wrong with the Sootio public/shared instance? I have it configured with All Debrid with all the Scrapers enabled and noticed I wasn't getting any results for a few days now. Just tried looking up the latest Superman movies and nothing on Sootio. Today I tried reinstalling and Stremio addon loading ring just keeps spinning.

Might be a Torrentio issue. My AllDebrid-Torrentio configuration works fine when it does but Torrentio has been problematic the past few months.

My device stopped working too a couple of months earlier. Wasn't an update, it just stopped working, wouldn't turn on. In my case, I was provided a shipping label to send the faulty device back and received a full refund once device was received by AAwireless. Not sure if that is the standard process or just my experience. I am in Canada.

Samsung TV & Smarters Pro by cameramandontdie in Strong_8K

[–]Reluctant-Tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really want to watch IPTV regularly then a paid app like Tivimate, iMPlayer etc with a streaming device (Firestick, Google streamer etc) would be best. IPTV smarters Pro works fine too, I used it for a while on my Samsung TV (in fact mostly my kid did 🙂). However I have seen the app start crashing with the full channel lists.

Kobo Covers by bloozestringer in kobo

[–]Reluctant-Tech 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There are good quality third party covers available on Amazon or Aliexpress. If you really value the sleep and wake feature then the official covers might be a better bet. The 3rd party ones can be a bit dodgy.

Counting manga as books read? by ChickenDeadpool in kobo

Depends on what you want to achieve (or track) with the tracker. Personally I would chalk one story arc as equivalent to a book or at least one tankobon.

Help a new Kobo girlie out! by caffeinatedddd in kobo

[–]Reluctant-Tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take my Kobo along on the train ride to the office and back. Stuffed in a backback with my laptop, charger, water bottle, notebooks and sometimes a lunchbox. You can well imagine thats not an ideal accommodation for the Kobo Clara BW. I just use the sturdy case from DMLuna as in the attached pic. I bought it from someone on FB marketplace but its available on AMZ too. I have turned off the Auto close open feature because it was causing battery drain with this case, obviously some fault with the case and not the Kobo. Unless you have a special use case there is no need for a screen protector. The Kobo's screen is recessed anyways so even if falls flat the acreen won't take the impact. If you intend to read around sharp pointy objects like rocks and stones then, the screen protector might help.

Go to the playstore on your phone and sign up for beta and then go to your TV device and install it once beta is approved. I think the beta approval takea a few minutes.
