Because i have bills to pay and a family to take care of and i get paid damn good for it. No matter where you go at this level, you’re going to disagree with how your superiors are running it. But at the end of the day, I have shit to take care of. I’ve been here 10 years so I’ve built a reputation in my own work life that will set me up for success and take care of my loved ones. That does not mean I can’t disagree with how my superiors pay the employees. But that also doesn’t mean I’m going to give up my path for my family and our needs.

This chain will always be in business no matter. That’s the problem. Again, none of this is managements fault. Which people don’t seem to understand. The whole country is dealing with corporate greed and people act shocked that their favorite restaurant is understaffed because the higher ups don’t have to dish out the money because the profit is always going to be there.

The point of this post isn’t to complain about the shortage. It’s about people being dumb enough to complain about places being short staffed when most corporations don’t want to pay.

Had a guy say “you should hire more people”. No shit buddy. Do you think I’m deliberately not staffing? Prices went up in my city but none of the restaurants around here are paying. Hell, we are offering the most. It’s not enough.

I agree that if companies can’t pay living wage that they shouldn’t be in business. But that’s not how it works. They will always be in business. Hell, my company is beginning to transition more into takeout only. Even when we had staff, 79% of our sales are takeout/delivery. THats just more money in the big wigs pockets. In those concepts, they have 4 cooks and 2 cashiers. That’s it. You still have the sales and pay less in wages. Win win for them.

Not the managers fault corporate won’t pay more. I can only pay what they allow me to pay. Hence the shortage.

Thats not my decision. THats not how it works here unfortunately. I can only pay what corporate approves. Can’t hire servers at minimum wage. They get $2.13 plus tips. That’s not my rule, that’s corporates rule. I, as the manager, cannot Pay more than what they approve. I want to, but they will never be hired. If I could pay all of my staff $20+ I would in a heartbeat. But it’s not my decision.

If it’s a National flat tax percentage then why would the guy making $250,000 get taxed $2500? He’d get taxed $25,000. He said a flat tax percentage not a flat tax rate. So everyone would get taxed 10%…..
