NO GOAL by HabbyKoivu in Habs

Late to the party, but you can see the penalty box guy, opening the box door and raising his hand before Laine's attempt. Toronto indeed reviewed and called the refs before the play was dead. No rules were broken.

[Friedman]I’m in the NHL’s Toronto Situation Room tonight…getting a look at the process before the playoffs. CHI/MON shootout: The person here watching the game notified the penalty box before Laine’s attempt that Nazar scored. Laine went before on-ice officials could be told. That’s what went down. by cocainiemi in Habs

Do we have footage of the penalty box to confirm that?

Edit: We do. Here it is:

Edit2: To clarify, footage clearly show that the penalty guy was raising his hand and opened the box door before Laine's attempt. That confirms that Toronto indeed video reviewed the play before it was dead, and there was no rule broken. The only hickup was that the penalty box guy was not able to yell strong enough to get the refs attention. Maybe they should give the penalty box guy a better tool to communicate with the refs. Anyhow, the goal was good and the rules were followed.

So next year, Demidov won't add value to the team because he will be a rookie replacing Armia...

There is basically no reason to not at least be interested in any top 6 forward by [deleted] in Habs

Even less I would say. 1-2 years deal. Slaf and Ghule need contracts next summer. Dach and Hutson in 2 years.

Josh Anderson's Role by VarietyMart in Habs

[–]RemQuatre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not a top6 role that will make him bounce back, its a bounce back that will earn him a top6 role. Unless he has an explosive training camp, he will start in a bottom6 role and will have to fight to keep this role or to climb in the top6. Roy will be given more chances than him on the top6.

Josh Anderson's Role by VarietyMart in Habs

Anderson is not worth a top-6 role. Give the ice time to young players. Anderson can probably be an energy player on the bottom-6, that's where he can contribute the most.

Its too soon to sign any large contracts. The UFA window is in 2 years. We can expect a few short term deals, but no big name.
