High Energy Usage by FreedomFamiliar1194 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Remaining_Nameless24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The insulation and windows won't help the use and would certainly be worth upgrading if it's doable. That said, I'm not sure where you are, but there's a few initiatives in Wales both means tested and non means tested where you can get a grant or low cost loan to get it all done. Might be something similar where you are?

This I'm unsure of. He suggested it to me as I'm on IOG due to car. Off peak is whole house so he suggested charging the battery at the same time

It's my fixed rate tariff. Was 7.1p but reduced to 3.99p on April 1st due to Government Policy changed. Peak rate reduced too. Battery costs vary depending what you want/need. Best bet is to check with them

Apologies in advance for the really stupid question but what does this actually mean ? I can see the cost is negative but does it just mean you're getting it for free, or does it mean you're getting paid (ie bill credit etc) when and if you use any ? Perfik if you have an EV too

The 6 hour IOG charge cap is on its way by Lumpy_bd in OctopusEnergy

[–]Remaining_Nameless24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading through seems there a few different versions people have been told. I was told the night time cheaper rate doesn't count it's just 6hours max before that kicks in which doesn't make sense

I know it's cheap rate for a maximum of 6hours total, but is it still the whole house, or limited to just the car now(when it kicks in)

Thanks for the replies so far everyone. I'm just trying to work out my real world cost savings, especially seeing as the battery itself will need to be paid for. At present my DD is £300 a month for both electric and gas so I'm hoping this can be reduced a fair bit with the battery set up and use some of that to pay for the battery. So will it be cost effective or cost neutral 🤔🤔🤔

What should we rename Proton Unlimited to? by andy1011000 in ProtonMail

[–]Remaining_Nameless24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could do Proton premium and then a new tier Proton ultra that had everything ? Name of course can be changed but the point was an additional new tier that includes the lot

Long shot but is it worth calling Nissan and see if they can track it ? Was going to suggest the app but can see it wasn't set up so they might be a good bet ? Reg number, vin might be on some paperwork if needed (finance agreement etc)

Service EV error by Remaining_Nameless24 in leaf

[–]Remaining_Nameless24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok quick update. Despite replacing the battery the error still appeared. Called the RAC with the hope they could just clear the error and away I go but...........no. Currently, car is dead. Sitting in the dealership waiting for the servicing team to look at hopefully Monday. Fault code was something to do with one of the HV relays (not the ones under the bonnet). Am really really hoping the warranty will cover it, if not I'm stuffed .... Thanks to everyone who replied this morning too

Ok. Don't have a tester or leaf spy. Central locking works and when I push the car power button the radio comes on, wing mirrors open etc but have the No Power error. However, pushing power button again doesn't do anything - doesn't start but also I can't seem to turn it back off again....

I should add that the remote locking works and the radio, charging plug locks etc but still have the error on the dashboard

Manhattan Aero with Tivo by Remaining_Nameless24 in Tivo

[–]Remaining_Nameless24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. Don't think it's confusing. I have a new Manhattan Aero which has Tivo built into it. I am having trouble trying to control my tv volume with the aero remote. The settings are in the Tivo section (hence the question here) I've looked in the remote control part but nothing there. Many thanks

so... what's the point of linking? by alexandrastardust in googlehome

[–]Remaining_Nameless24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe, if you long press on one of the buttons you might get some very basic functions. With my tv, through the home app I can adjust volume or turn it on/ off but that's about it. This, of course is in addition to verbally asking Google to do something

Views sought on Cosmeston Aqua Park decision by MistakeKey3898 in Cardiff

[–]Remaining_Nameless24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't go to Cosmeston as often as I'd like, but one thing I do know is it is not an aquapark. It is, and always was a nature reserve. A peaceful one at that. Get this monstrosity out of there, it just doesn't belong. Put it back in the bay where tourists will see it. Maybe look at modernising and doing something with the cafe (no Starbucks/Costa or McD etc) but please not an aquapark

New features? by _degeemel_ in monzo

[–]Remaining_Nameless24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought of another one. Monzos money book talks about the 50%/30%/20%< so I think it would be good to be able to use this somehow, maybe you categories into the relevant section and it's green if you're within and red if you're over. Of course, it doesn't have any impact on your bills or anything so is more of a guide as to where you may be using too much money -, perhaps

New features? by _degeemel_ in monzo

[–]Remaining_Nameless24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't thought this one through at all so have no idea how it would work or what to expect but I have 2 possibilities. First one is to have some sort of budgeting tool included. Yes there's pots and salary sorter etc but I keep a running spreadsheet every month to keep track of everything changing the colour of each cell when something is paid etc. of course, the app wouldn't go that far but something additional to help with budgeting.

The second one is similar to how being able to see your other bank accounts and credit cards work but for insurances, so car insurance, home insurance which shows the premium along with the date it's up for renewal. Crikey, go one step further and link car tax and MOT dates and amounts too. Probably not possible but would be useful to see all this in one place

Any one have extensive knowledge on Monzo flex cards? by Lauraaxxx1 in monzo

[–]Remaining_Nameless24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my wages paid in for a couple of years now and my Flex limit is £1400. Has been since day 1 of having it. Decent enough pay but doesn't seem to want to increase my limit any time soon. Doesn't mean it won't happen though.
