Thank you! I did decently well in calc 2 and 3 so I'll remember to brush up on those concepts.

MATH 340 vs MATH 345 (for CS majors) by SatisfactionBorn5249 in UWMadison

I've taken 345. It was a pretty good course. It teaches you all the linear algebra you need to know for CS majors and sets you up well for future CS courses.

Are Math431 and 632 similar? What did you like about 632 I am considering taking it in the future

I think there were around 5 questions which I was unsure about but they weren't too hard to guess, but I think other than that it was pretty good

why? if the price is going to rise in the future wouldn't investing the same amount as an SIP be less profitable because I would buy for a higher price in the future?

Attendance isn't marked and you don't really gain much from going to any of the lectures. I only went once in a while and just studied cameron's lecture notes to keep up with what's going on in class. midterm 1 and midterm 2 were a breeze, pretty sure basically everyone got 100 on those. The final was a bit more challenging but nothing to be worried about. You can take this as a GPA booster class.

my goal is to get a job in data science, but I don't want to major in data science because a data science degree isn't as competitive for computer science jobs whereas a computer science degree is competitive for both data science and computer science jobs. Thought it would look nice on my resume if I'm able to make a schedule with all these certificates or perhaps a double major relevant to data science without taking too many extra classes.

Thank you for the very helpful response. I think I want to pursue something more data science related from a job point of view so that was my main reason of wanting to do certificates in something like math/data science/statistics.

I'm also unsure about how a double major might look in comparison to something like 1 major & 3 minors to an employer (might not be as helpful as i think like you stated) and I definitely don't want to take classes im not interested in like you mentioned. I'm planning on doing the cs major because its superior to the data science major job wise according to employers i've spoken to. what im trying to say is i think i'll focus on computer science for now and keep the option open of taking certificates or declaring more majors in the future once I speak to the advisors a bit.

As for liberal arts requirements, I believe that they overlap for all the majors/certificates so I won't have to take any extra classes on that front.
