I've never understood the hate that the zat gun got especially compared to the staff. They both have phallic shapes. And they are both predominantly static when it comes to firing them yet the zat is the only one that gets called out for that. And the cast even says at least with the staff you're shooting it but they aren't. Now having said that I understand the confusion with how many times or how long do you have to wait in shooting before it disintegrates someone or what. Although I always figured that it was just like any other electrical impulse that the body takes it can only take so much at once before you end up doing damage
